Simon and Garfunkel

The dude can sing, and not in the "who wants to be the next pop american idol millionaire" lame way.

He's got something that passes for charisma in the pop world, I'll give him that. Was quite funny on SNL. Then again, so were McCain and Gore, lol/

Vocal talent? Are you freaking kidding me. Paper thin quasi-falcetto? Might work for auto-tuned N'Sync a capellas, but I am not impressed. The dude actually thinks he is a cross between Elton John and Stevie Wonder. The balls.

I just saw him on SNL and I don't know, he's got something the rest of what that group doesn't.

Well, he is a charismatic cutie with some comedic timing. Feels VERY comfortable performing on stage, an underrated quality. Hard worker, studies styles and techniques of performers past.

I guess, compared with his N'Sync brethren, he IS a solid entertainer.

I am not sure what their dynamic was/is (the first time I heard of them was like 25 years after they broke up, lol), but I remember a few years back Howard Stern's little goon telling AG that he looked familiar and asking him if he ever played back-up to Paul Simon. His reaction was aobsolutely priceless.

Also, Ali G's Art Deco/Art Garfunkel thing...LMAO.

Start of arguement #12,494,397 on soxtalk...

I would make the arguement that Justin Timberlake is actually quite talented, however, he's caught in the horrible place of making music in one of the worst periods in history. The dude can sing, and not in the "who wants to be the next pop american idol millionaire" lame way.

I mean I'm not saying he comes even close to S&G and the likes, he just reminiscent of MJ in the eighties.

s***... ithought I was the only other guy that feels that way. In all honest, Justin Timberlake has a few pretty kick ass songs. His whole nsync crap was a bunch of crap but on his own he is pretty talented.

It sounds horrible for me saying this, but he could be a non f***ed up version of Michael Jackson.

That music video of the song that won a bunch of awards last year was pretty badass.

I find that you've got to be in the proper mood for S&G.

But that's more or less true for ANY band (and movie and book for that matter).

There is time to listen to Mozart....and then there time to break out Public Enemy or ABBA.

As it were.

This is true, of course. I guess I feel that way more about S&G though because I'm not in the mood for S&G as much as other things. I wouldn't say I need to be in the mood to listen to the Beatles because I'm almost always in the mood for the Beatles.
