southsider2k5
Ah I'm in my senior year at South Side HS Ah. MHS played more of the smaller FW HS's and the Christian HS's such as Dwenger and Homestead.

Ah it was about a year ago to the date...it was so sweet....we were down to Homestead by 2 w/ 5 seconds to go...and we had no timeouts.....Homestead just scored so we had the full length of the court to go....A forward from our school heaved it up from 60 feet and DRAINED it......LOL that owned so much....We were at Homestead at the time....That was awesome to rub in their faces.... Plenty of guys under six feet get playtime in basketball, it just happens to be in grade school leagues.

Maybe half our team is over six foot. That's seven guys.
Cerbaho-WG
Best. Movie. Ever. BTW just a footnote, the fight song of "Hickory HS" is the reallife fight song for Manchester HS in North Manchester IN, home of the Manchester Squires, where yours truely spent 3 years broadcast HS basketball including IN HS state finals in 1995. Remember Bryce Drew? Yeah, Bryce went to Valparaiso High School, which is the same HS I go to.
southsider2k5
Yeah, Bryce went to Valparaiso High School, which is the same HS I go to. The year Valpo lost to Clay in the finals is when I got to broadcast. Valpo HS ey, cool. More props for The Region!

Yeah, Valpo lost to Clay, and if I remember correctly, Bryce had some problems with free throws down the stretch.
southsider2k5
Yeah, Valpo lost to Clay, and if I remember correctly, Bryce had some problems with free throws down the stretch. Jaaron Cornell and Lee Nailon went nuts down the stretch too. Actually I was really impressed with Drew's play as Clay totally shut him down scoringwise but he kept his cool and didn't force anything, and was a big factor as a passer. The guy who impressed me from Valpo was Tim Bishop. He was that teams heart and soul. And it still is sad to me the tragic way his life ended way too short. Mr. Showtime
Score by Quarter Team 1 2 3 4 Final Independence 18 19 6 4 47 Oelwein 0 8 6 18 32 That first half really really hurt us. I'd say the whole being down 18-0 thing didn't help.

Heads22
I'd say the whole being down 18-0 thing didn't help. Nah. Hell, we outscored them the rest of the way, but spotting someone 18 points is not the way to go.
Heads22
Wow. That is sad. How big is your high school? 473 kids were enrolled at the beginning of the year. Puts us near the bottom of 3A. 3A is the second biggest class.

Wow that is small. Years back they made schools in IN consolidate if they got under 250 students, so we don't have nearly that many small schools. 500 kids we get you a 2A school and that is with 5 classes.
