sox-r-us
How about Maddux instead of Colon? He would be much cheaper(fit our payroll) and might be willing for a 2 year deal
Gene Honda Civic
i don't know what he would be asking for this year. But last years salary was WAY out of our price range: 2003 Salary: $14,750,
maggsmaggs
Maddux showed last year that last year was his decline. He didn't have Mddux-esque numbers. He might be cheaper than Bartolo, but he wouldn't pitch well with the Sox.
sox-r-us
This is my deal after Paulie goes. We trade Kong for Perez stright up. So we now have the rotation of MB, Estey, Perez, Garland, and Show. We save what, 4, 5 Mil on Perez with Kong leaving, so we sign Raffy for 2-3 Mil. The Colon deal for 3/38 Mil was apperenlty on the table, so we have the money, and there willing to spend it, so then you go out and bring back Colon for 3 years. You now have a solid rotation of MB, Colon, Estey, Perez and Garland. If that is how it works, then im fine with Rowand and Willie at CF and 2B, cause I beleive are SP whould be that good. The bullpen is still what needs help, and im not sure how to adress that. We should not spend the 2-3 mill on Graffy since we got Uribe...instead we get Sullivan re-signed with that dough to strengthen the bull pen If Koch gets back to his original form, then our bullpen would be fine with Danny Wright Marte Koch Sullivan Wunsch ????? Nokona
Do you know what Maddux could do for this pitching staff? Oh good lord, he could have Garland pitching like no other. At this point, he is more then a teacher than a pitcher but good lord what he could do...

greasywheels121
Maddux would pull a Glavine if he came here. Glavine straight up blew last year for the Mets.

YASNY
Maddux showed last year that last year was his decline. He didn't have Mddux-esque numbers. He might be cheaper than Bartolo, but he wouldn't pitch well with the Sox. Maddux started out 0-3 with a 10+ ERA. From that point on, he was 16-8 with an ERA about 3.32 iirc. Those are very Maddux like numbers and I'd be THRILLED to see him in a Sox uni.

SnB
i thought maddux had an agent that isn't too fond of the pale hose?
Rex Hudler
i thought maddux had an agent that isn't too fond of the pale hose? He does, and he goes by the name of Scott Boras. Apparently, like with many other Boras clients, the asking price for Maddux is way too high at this point. Have't heard an actual number, however. Ask Kenny Rogers how his offseason went last year.
