Loaiza21
So far I know that Perez is about 99% a White Sox and that Colon is leaning towards the White Sox. Buehrle Colon Loaiza Perez Garland That'd be awesome... Now put Frank at 1B and get us a bat.
Guest JimH
Damn straight it would be awesome. The key, though, is the bullpen. LOTS of work to be done there. That's how games are won in the AL.
bo_chi_sox
is it really 99% or where do you here that??
JDsDirtySox
Where do you hear that this deal is 99% done?
greasywheels121
The rumor pages on ESPN and CBS Sportsline say this is close. I understand the LA Times has an article.

SuperSteve
Reports are saying the deal is very close. Who else can the Dodgers go find; seeing how Sexson and Lee are already gone. They need a right handed bopper, we have one. They also want to trade Perez, I see the deal happening. I love this rotation, but our bullpen has alot of holes as of now, and we would need a 1B/DH to replace Kong (or move CLee to 1B and get a LF). This team has alot of holes. SnB
if we get that rotation and still don't win the weak central, sell the team. That rotation is quite possbily the best all around rotation in the MLB.
Cali
I would love to get a Mota to go along with Perez maybe if we can add a prospect to the deal. Mota would help the bullpen a lot. Mota Shuey I wouldn't mind either. Maybe also swing a deal to get Weathers from New York.
Loaiza21
Let's grab Danys Baez and Roberto Hernandez cheap. Then go get Sullivan back. We'll be set. I mean with that rotation I don't see the pen being used as much as last year.
bulokis
Cross all our fingers and hope this will happen. Hopefully the deal for Perez is almost done. Konerko is a good guy but we have too many similar hitters in our team so its ok to ship him out. I also heard on WSCR 670 AM, somebody called in about Colon wanting 3 years for 30 mil? dont know how reliable that is.

That's a deal very similar to the one he was offered about a month or so ago, so, if it is true, I think we will be able to get him easily! BurlyMan56
Still between Sox,Angels, and Orioles...I think we have the upper hand though since all the stuff he said about feeling comfortable...
SnB
Its it amazing what 1 rumor can spark?? It seems like everyone is alot more pumped about the season, casue of the Paul-Perez deal. Im not saying its bad, this is what the Sox need to do, create a buzz. im on that boat. The way this offseason was going had me a bit worried, but this rumor, *im praying it's more, really could help the sox get where they wanna be next year. RibbieRubarb
I think moving Lee to 1st is cool, then can we swing a trade with the brewers for Geoff Jenkins? He can play LF and provide that MUST needed LH pop in the line-up

SuperSteve
I like the idea if they take Jose from us. That's the only way it would ever be okay on our part, and I don't see them wanting Jose, because that's not what they want.

Couldn't agree more on that. After those moves the Sox should turn immediately to getting relievers in. Dave Weathers for Koch (I still think it happens) and then the Sox add two more relievers, one being Sully and then one more good reliever. I couldn't agree more although I think Mota is pretty much untouchable, but a Marte-Mota combo would be sweet. Maybe the Sox could work out some type of deal like that later in the offseason, but with the loss of Quantrill, I don't see them too willing to move a reliever. Remember, this all looks great...but nothing is done until they sign the dotted lines.

Chisoxfn
I think its 1. Sox 2. Baltimore 3. YANKS 4. Angels What I heard tonight is that everyone shouldnt be so sold that Pettie is going to be back in NY. Its not for sure, and he could end up elsewhere. In that case, I think its bye-bye Bart. Heard Larry Luchino..president of the Red Sox (Former Pres of the Padres) interviewed on the San Diego Sports talk station and he basically said Pettite is gonna be back in New York or at least thats what they believe. He said they went after him and still want him, but don't see it happening. Foulke will likely sign in the next few days with Boston.
