bo_chi_sox
Yesterday people were calling Odalis Perez a White Sox. What happened now. Is he not coming?? Do you think we still got a shot of getting him for Konerko?? Or will it HAVE to be Lee?? If so then no i will not give up CLEE
SuperSteve
We're not giving them CLee for Perez. KW was already offered that and showed no interest. I would give them CLee, if they took Jose of our hands, and added Izturis and Mota to the deal.
elrockinMT
I refer you to some other posts on this site that address the same subject. I am not sure that perez is worth Konerko or Lee. Look at his record and compare his success to that of PK or Lee. Now maybe with some extra minor leagure talent thrown in it might be worth having Perez as part of the deal, but one for one even up is not looking so great. quickman
this isnt mlb 2004 this is REAL baseball, trades take time nicely put, the dodgers might need to make another move before this one. Same with the chisox
sox-r-us
Although Perez may not be enough compensation for PK, we still need to do it to save $ and to change the type of team we have (slow prodders who hit HRs or GIDP with no clue about how to field their position) If we cannot make the deal happen, the ramifications are we might lose Maggs. People do not care if Perez is equal compensation for PK or not. The fact of the matter is this is a buyer's market in the MLB today UNLESS you have a player that both the Red Sox and Yankmes want....then you can milk them for due and most often over due compensation. Otherwise, you never get enough for a player if you need to trim payroll and cut a high salary guy unless you are lucky.
maggsmaggs
I hate this too, I want to get this deal or something, so we have enough to re-sign Bartolo. Why can't any GM give a straight answer?
Guest JimH
Guillen was being interviewed on the Score this afternoon, about 4 p.m. They asked him about his lineup, some of the players, etc. and he got to talking about Konerko, without any prodding from the two hosts. He basically said, well, right now, Konerko is on the team ... and then talked about Frank playing some 1B. So based on Guillen's comments, it appears there's some credence to this rumor.
