C.Rector
You guys seem to forget that Jauron goes to church with the McCaskeys and is their great and good friend. Look for an arrangement under which Shoop goes but Jauron stays for at least the last year of his contract. In any event, Jerry Angelo shares a good part of the blame for the lackluster Bears. If Jauron is fired, then he should be as well. Then the positions of coach and GM should be combined into 1 position so that the coach also determines the personnel and drafting. There lies the direction to success.

How long did it take him to figure out to play Urlacher? How long did it take him to figure out ATrain was his feature back? How long did it take for Zoom to be returning kicks this year? Chisoxfn
it IS angelo's fault for not having colvin back. And with Colvin here, we wouldn't of seen the emergence of Lance Briggs, who likes like a real player to me. Plus, last I heard Colvin is out for the season. But, if Angelo didn't goof on the wohle check box thing, we'd probably have Colvin right now and Holdman may of been the odd man out. southsider2k5
it IS angelo's fault for not having colvin back. After signing Holdman and Urlacher to longer term deals, there was no way to spend that kind of cash, and still fill other holes with even OK football players. With the salary cap, you really have to pick and choose your spots.

Shoop is a disaster and Kordell couldn't QB his way through a pee wee game. Angelo had a chance to get Drew Bledsoe a few years ago and passed on it and now the offense is paying the consequences. Ok....give me a second to analyze this post?!?!?! First of all Ted Washington and Rosey Colvin are both out for the season....Sure if they would have stayed here they may have stayed healthy but perhaps it was a good thing that they were let go...Because if they did shell out big cash to Washington and Rosey there would be people complaining Angelo spent BIG BUCKS on two injured players!!!! Right? Ted Washington has been unable to stay healthy three out of the past five seasons!!!! Shoop is a disaster but he is NOT Angelo's guy...Angelo came in after this laughing stock of a coaching staff was put in place....Dicky, Shoopy and Defensive "genius" Blache were already in place when Angelo came along. Sure Angelo did bring in Kordell and we all know how that worked out....I cant back him there!! But I think he knew it would only be a temporary thing because he also drafted Rex Grossman in the draft and if Rex turns into a "servicable" NFL QB this draft may go down as one of the best EVER! Peanut Tillman, Haynes has shown potential (and I'm not talking about his ability to hit Favre in the helmet after he releases the ball), Briggs, Gage, Wade, Joe Odom and perhaps even Ian Scott could all be future starters in the league... Now Drew Bledsoe...He hasnt exactly been lightin up opposing defenses in Buffalo and he gets sacked more than any QB in the league during his career. With the Bears "Offensive" Offensive line he would be breaking all sorts of records! Drew Bledsoe is not that great of a QB, he wouldnt have been the answer here either. So for me to hear people blame Jerry Angelo for this season kind of makes me scratch my head!!! Thanks I think i'm done
DBAHO
Ok it seems lots of ppl have animosity for Jauron and his boy John Shoop here. . I'm a Cowboys fan so I don't really care too much bout da Bears situation, but what I do know is that a great coach like a Bill Parcells can take an average team like da Cowboys who r prob the same talent wise as the Bears and make them into a winnin football team. Shoop will definitely get canned, but I wouldn't call Jauron a goner yet, he has some support at the upper levels, and is there really any betta candidates out there to replace him? Nick Saban will prob stay at LSU and he's Angelo's no. 1 choice.
