Wong & Owens
In yesterday's Tribune, it said that KW and Sullivan's agent were close to working out a deal. If memory, serves, they made it sound like it was virtually a done deal.
winninguglyin83
I think it's pretty obvious the strategy across baseball is keep the number of players offered arbitration to a minimum and the number of free agents as high as possible. flood the market with the middle range guys and you've got a chance to drive salaries down a notch or keep them flat. We're not the only team doing this. The key is to be able to recruit decent replacements. Or else depend upon Danny Wright, Matt Ginter and Jon Adkins. quickman
What the heck are they not offering Sully arbitration. He is a good reliever and now the Sox pen is absolutely bare. I love Marte, but he's the only good reliever out there. Until Koch proves himself again, he's not good, imo. The SOx now have a lot of work to do in that pen if you ask me. Lightenberg, Rhodes, Benitez...those are three guys I'd zero in on as well as Weathers via trade. Having a good bullpen is key. While the Sox have some good bullpen prospects in Majewski, Munoz and Sanders I don't want to see the Sox have to depend on all three of these guys. This sucks again, Sullivan was very steady and one of the better middle relievers. KW better start doing something positive. Again If I am colon I am now looking at a average to below average middle infield. And now as it stands today a depleted middle relief core. Rex Hudler
In yesterday's Tribune, it said that KW and Sullivan's agent were close to working out a deal. If memory, serves, they made it sound like it was virtually a done deal. It is pretty obvious that is not the case. If they were close, things must have fallen apart. israel4ever
Jerry and his puppet, Kenny, are f***ing idiots! They make it SOOOO hard to be a Sox fan. Jerry could care less about the team being competitive...he should sell it a.s.a.p. By the way, David Weathers is a Cubs reject...if he couldn't pitch in their bullpen, why the hell do we want 'em? JoshPR
By the way, David Weathers is a Cubs reject...if he couldn't pitch in their bullpen, why the hell do we want 'em? Wow what a reject he was.. Only pitched 28 innings after being traded by the Brewers.. 3.18 ERA with 20 K's in 28 innings.. Yeah He's really bad... Why would we want him... 3.07, 2.41, 2.91, 3.08.. His Era in the Last 4 seasons 69, 80, 71, 77 the number of games he's pitched his last 4 seasons 76.1, 86, 77.2, 87.2 The Innings pitched... 38, 34, 36, 40 the walks.. Darn other than Damaso I can't recall a Whitesox Reliever with those Numbers
greasywheels121
I really would like to know what KW has up his sleeve; I can justify us not giving arbitration deals to Robbie and Carl, but why not Sully? I fully expected Sully to be in Chisox uniform for a few more years.
Guest williestokes
Im disappointed about Everett and Alomar. Sullivan if I remember was rather mediocre so Im not too upset about that. But Everett and Alomar were great. I remember how Alomar once went from first to third on an IF groundout, or something like that. And when the players voted on bonus shares, Everett gave all of his to the rookies. And in that game where Gordon had trouble at the end with the Twins, Everett was out of the game but he was still yelling his lungs out and cheering Flash on. On a team like this, we need players like that.
Mr. Showtime
Not surprising. The Sox under their self-imposed salary cap can't make ANY MOVES until they unload payroll.
