Soxy
Since Pudge's contract had a no arbitration clause, where do you think he'll end up? I'm pretty sad he isn't staying with the Marlins and it sounds like they did a lot to try and keep him...But any predictions for him? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1680986
DBAHO
I dunno if there'll be much of a mrket for Pudge actually, especially for what Boras wants which is a long term deal. Teams r inclined to offa playa's no more than 3 year deals at the most, Chan Ho Park is the perfect example why. But I think the Cubs and Orioles would hav the best shot of signin him. Sorry but cwsox isn't here so I thought I would fill in for him. There is only one Pudge and he wore number
Chisoxfn
The Cubs would be my best guess. I really don't see many teams jumping out to sign him. I think this was a big mistake on Boras' part. One other team would possibly be the Orioles since they were interested in him last year. I think Boras just screwed Pudge though cause I can't see anyone offering him what the Marlins did. Soxbadger
Japan? I remember last year that was one of the rumors if he did not get the contract that he wanted. Here are 2 places that I am going to guess that I have not heard; 1) Braves: With Sheff and Lopez gone, Braves might want a player who actually comes up with hits in the playoffs. 2) Texas: If they trade A-Rod and get cash from Boston, they might try and bring back a fan favorite to take the sting out of losing A-Rod. Otherwise O's, etc SB
Flash Tizzle
Pudge better know whats best for him and avoid the Cubs......I dont want to hate this guy. Though I believe the Cubs wouldnt have enough money to sign him to a deal, he is looking for a long term deal isnt he?
cwsox
as has been pointed out by Supernuke, it is hard to imagine Fisk signing to play for anyone. There is only one Pudge and he wore #72. If this doscussion is about some person who lazy media and lazier follow like sheep fams mean as being Ivan, IROD, or I Rodrigiuez, then let's be clear that the discussion is on IRod and uphold the respect for the one Pudge out there. southsider2k5
Bor-ass wanted 4 years at 40 million as a starting point for negotiations. That for a guy that played his first relatively injury free year in a long time. No. Way.
Texsox
There is only one Pudge and he wore #72. I have to agree with CW on this point. As all Sox fans (Red or White) know, there is only 1 Pudge. But there are two Elvises (Elvi?)
Soxy
My deepest apologies on the Pudge front--I did, of course mean the overly greedy I-Rod and NOT the lovely and talented Pudge Fisk.
Rex Hudler
I don't see the Cubs having enough $$ to sign him either, unless they just want to kiss Kerry Wood goodbye next year. And I wouldn't consider Pudge greedy since all he was doing is trying not to take a paycut. Granted Boras was asking for 4 years, but the Marlins never even offered him the $10 million a year for two years.
Soxy
I think the problem with I-Rod was the length of contract that he's looking for. A two year 15 mill deal, I think is over doing it, since he gets hurt a lot. But, Ivan is definitely getting up there in age, and I think he's being greedy if only in the amount of years he is asking for. I don't think he can give a reasonable assurance that he will play 4 (or even 2) years of injury free ball--so that's why I would consider what he's looking for greedy. upnorthsox
I expect the the scrubs to go after Brent Mayne.
SuperSteve
I think it will be interesting to see where Pudge ends up. I think Pudge may end up with the Cubs. They are looking for a better catcher than Miller, and Pudge is better than Miller. I don't think the Rangers are going to want to spend alot of money to bring Pudge back, but they may bring him back as a public relations move. I think the Orioles will end up with Lopez. I also think Pudge won't go to Japan. Boras is a f***er.
