Molto
Oh, I'm sure all those doubters covered their ears to this trade. not to be ignorant, but that is why nobody should open up their mouths and knock down anothers hopes. There were a few people on here and other boards who talked about this deal and were ripped for it by people who were so confident in KW's stupidity and JR's cheapness. They were criticized for thinking something was going to happen, that eventually did, simply because others are too negative to expect the unexpected. once again, sorry to all those this is directed to, but it needed to be said. SI1020
I don't know if I'm supposed to eat crow or not. I have had crow on various occasions in my life and find that it's not too bad if you season it right and wash it down with a good drink or two. I think I said something to the effect go get him but don't over pay. Well Kenny got him and it sure looks like the price wasn't too steep. Now let's hope Mark and Bartolo become a feared one two punch, lead us to the division and beyond. And oh yes SIGN them both to long term contracts. With just a little bit of luck, next year could be all right.
YASNY
Osuna, Biddle, Liefer & 2 minor leaguers for Colon... We paid dearly for him. They better sign him. But. all that having been said... I LIKE THIS TRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LIKE THIS TRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We only gave up one minor leaguer in Lantigua, who isn't on the same level as many of our prospects. We didn't give up anyone remotely considered super high in our system, which was awesome. And Liefer...forget about it. Osuna...he's gonna be replaced, maybe even by tomorrow, and well Biddle, was replaced with Colon and now Rauch gets his opportunity.
Molto
okay, where are all the crow eaters? two weeks ago there were tons of them, now, only one steps up. like KW or not, the guy has some balls and is agressive as s***, which is better than having most passive GMs. plus, how many guys can convince JR to add $8.5 million dollars in salary. BTW, this is yet another player JR has spent a lot of money on. He just went on and traded for a good pitcher to go behind Buehrle, something sox fans have wanted for a long time, let's see how many more a game they get. He did what everyone has wanted him to do, let's see if sox fans pack comiskey, if not, then what JR does, good or bad, doesn't mean a thing. Guys...this is reminding me a whole lot like the Angels offseason of a year ago. They added two starters, we've added on high high level starter. We've rebuilt the bullpen, and are looking to bring in Flash Gordon and an outfielder. This is looking AWESOME!!!!!!!! By the way....maybe next year KW will be wearing a World Series RING

You know what Molto? I give credit where credit is due. KW made a huge deal for us today. Even though I didn't think it would ever happen, I always said I'd be happy if it did. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face when I heard on the SCORE that it was official. I also COULDN'T WAIT to get home to be ribbed and jeered by those who always kept hope alive that this deal would happen. I didn't think it would. JR is still a cheap f*** and if this move would have added payroll (Sox are still lower, at this point, than they were in 2002), I STILL doubt JR would have let KW pull it off. But as a Sox fan, I have to "eat my crow" today..... although I will be doing it with a huge smile on my mugg and renewed anticipation for 2003. LDF
ref to eating crow, i don't believe i am one of those who should be eating crow. i was and has been in hopes of getting colon. now if you think that i should eat crow and say that kw is a demi-god, forget it. there is going to be question about colon that i have. 1. can we resign him 2. is weight prob really a prob and will it affect his pit. Mathew
Even if he is the second Sox coming of David Wells, we didn't give up s*** all for him so I don't see a downside.

Give me time to get off work. I'll gladly eat crow here. Great job kw! He's becoming a real gm now. This move wouldnt be possible if it werent for the yankees. They helped the sox get colon just so Boston ddint get him. I'll take it! And there was a lot of payroll removed for kw to convince jerry to add it. CubKilla
1. can we resign him 2. is weight prob really a prob and will it affect his pit. Let's worry about that when we get to that point in the road. How can you not be happy about picking up a 20-game winner just on the face? Let's worry about that when we get to that point in the road. How can you not be happy about picking up a 20-game winner just on the face? There is only one downside of it....even if we don't resign Colon or he goes to the DL with an injury due to his weight problem. We give up the Rockmeister. This trade is still good, even if Colon goes on the DL, like explained above....we get rid of that dead weight Osuna and Liefer's b****y ass.....I hope he gets a chance to start in Montreal....and if he doesn't start for the Expos....then he f***in sucks, more than we all thought. But listen to this.....this could be the 3 pitchers that pitch in a game for the Sox this year. Glover Koch Colon Now put an r in between the K and o on Koch, and then say it real slow and think about. Glover Kroch Colon....or in other words, glove(or grab) her crotch cologne. That's terrible ....but I thought I'd bring up a point.
