I was lucky enought to meet him on two occassions and chat with him for a few minutes. Even on issues we disagreed, I was very impressed on how well thought out his opinion was. I remember when a small controversy errupted aorund him and even the republicans where saying there was no way Simon made a mistake or did anything unethical. That speaks volumes to his integrity. I also liked his tradition on election days. He would go plant a tree so that no matter what happened that day, something good would come out of it. DonkeyKongerko Posted December 10, 2003 Share Posted December 10, 2003 Paul was always a local favorite when I grew up. I remember playing in a jazz band at one of his benefits in junior high.
