A few hours after completing a three-team trade that got them 20-game winner Bartolo Colon, the White Sox agreed to terms on a one-year contract with outfielder Armando Rios. The White Sox needed another backup outfielder, having sent Jeff Liefer to the Montreal Expos as part of the Colon deal. Rios, a free agent, batted .264 with a homer and 24 RBIs in 76 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates last season. He hit .377 over his final 26 games. Rios is .276 with eight homers and 34 RBIs in five seasons with Pittsburgh and San Francisco. He's played 242 games in right field, 59 in left and six in center.
