WSFAN35
Does anyone know anything about this kid?
mac9001
27 years old, little power, lots of speed, good with the glove. Hit .280-somthing in AAA, with 27 SB, no HR's in 200 AB's or so.
Cerbaho-WG
Rated 10th best prospect in the Dodgers organization a yaer ago. Was apart of the Shawn Green - Raul mondesi trade. Led Southern League in SB two years ago. Has outstanding speed, was rated as having the strongest arm in the SL two years ago. Doesn't have much power, hits well if he doesn't try to belt everything. Plays SS.

delben91
27 years old That is a bit of a bothersome tidbit though. Seems that if he hasn't made it yet he might be destined for a utility role? Not that we can't use such a player with Graffy on the mend and Harris still learning.

For now tho, this deal is great just because we got Bartolo!

Torn ACL is severe and I do think the Sox wonder if he'll be back at the start of the season. Nunez is a pretty solid player.

witesoxfan
27 years old middle infielder still in AA or AAA or something like that? I think we found Aaron Miles' replacement.

LDF
from BA on LA top 10 prospect several yr ago. 10. Jorge Nunez, ss Age: 24. B-T: R-R. Ht.: 5-10. Wt.: 158. Signed: Dominican Republic, 1995. Signed by: Epy Guerrero (Blue Jays). Background: Acquired in the Shawn Green-Raul Mondesi trade with the Blue Jays prior to the 2000 season, Nunez led the Southern League in stolen bases last year. His performance enabled Nunez to return to the Dodgers’ 40-man roster in the offseason after he was left off the year before. Strengths: Nunez is a tools player who can do several things well. He has plus speed and outstanding quickness that he uses on the basepaths and in the field. His arm was rated as the strongest among SL infielders last year. Weaknesses: Nunez hit 14 homers in his last year in the Blue Jays system but hasn’t shown the same kind of power since the trade. He needs to make more contact instead of trying to hit home runs. His offense will improve if he can tighten his strike zone. If he can’t, then he’ll have to be relegated to the bottom of the batting order. The Future: The Dodgers say Nunez is just beginning to mature physically and get comfortable with his body. He’ll open 2002 in Triple-A. Los Angeles’ trade for Cesar Izturis has at least temporarily taken away Nunez’ status as the shortstop of the future
witesoxfan
And then I assume that he was part of the trade that sent Matt Herges to Montreal for Guillermo Mota. He's decent.
Jim Fainter
.291/27 SB's in AAA is not chopped liver. Just ask Tim Hummel.
baggio202
the guy is 27 ...so what???...i dont care if he is 37 but can he play???...that should be the question...its this kind of thinking that lets a guy like david eckstein slip through everyone's fingers... he's got some decent numbers...his aerm and range seem real nice...cant hurt to give him a legit shot this spring as a utility guy.and if harris / jiminez fall on their collective faces this guy could be a diamond in the rough
