Gene Honda Civic
We have lost: Colon -- Lost a horse -- but his salary would have cost us other players Gordon -- WE could use him Sullivan -- The biggest mistake of the offseason so far -- we should have at least offered arbitration Everett -- gonna be too expensive -- could have hurt us at arbitration Daubach -- so what? Alomar -- Clearly his offensive skills have dropped. Miles -- he's a AAAA player Failed to get rid of: Koch Konerko Thomas (depending on which side of the argument you are on) Magglio (same as thomas) Only really need to get rid of one of the above, and we haven't even hit the winter meetings yet give it time. Failed to sign: Guardado -- Who cares? too expensive, Marte is better. We need a solid righty. possibly others Gainied: Juan Uribe -- fills Tony G's spot, who you forgot to mention. Gotta look at the big picture. Hopefully the worst is over -- I'm looking at the big piture and I see this as a team witha few holes to fill. we have limited resources, and have to get rid of at least one qualtiy player. Our season will hinge on the result of that deal. Forgive KW, if he is a little hesitant in making that deal. He wants to make sure it is the right one. Everyone here wants to run people out of town(I Hate Kock). The four players you listed as "failed to get rid of" are all-stars, who didn't live up to expectations. What are the chances that all four are washed up? Slim, so the key is getting rid of the one who A) you can get the most in return for. B.) feel is most likely to have a repeat disappointing season. The winter meetings should be interesting and I'm looking forward to it.
CubsSuck1
Failed to sign: Guardado -- Who cares? too expensive, Marte is better. We need a solid righty. Marte COULD be a dominant closer in the game, but since he's a little unproven in that role, I'm assuming he will set up. Flash won't be here to close, and we can't put koch out there just because we pay him big money, and watch him blow again.

Loaiza21
Why would Koch bounce back if he never had his fastball in the first place? Billy Koch is here to throw the heat, and until he does, he's gonna be bombed.
