Elcaballo45
Well, right b4 the 2 big games of Memphis and Missouri, we lose our starting point guard... This is probably the worst news i've heard in a while.... He had a collision in tonights game in the 1st half against Maryland Eastern Shore... I guess its good that it happened early in the season and not in the meat of the big 10 season, he shouldnt miss too many big 10 games... Sighhh Go illini! Elcaballo45
Here's a recent update from about 13 minutes ago on his condition... Update @ 10:40 PM: Deron Williams' lower jaw is broken in two places, and he is expected to have surgery tomorrow. After the surgery, Deron should have a plate in his jaw, and will be required to avoid contact for three to four weeks at the earliest. Elcaballo45
he did look like he is in serious pain... f*** this sucks Well, i guess on the bright side, we can get Head more into the offense and we'll see what he can do with extended playing time.... McBride will also benefit from this as we're gonna rely on him in 2 years most likely... Deron should only miss the first week or so of the big 10 schedule... f*** though, Missouri is gonna kill us i have a feeling though.... I think we can take Memphis though this saturday... southsider2k5
That's a big blow. Who runs the point now? does Dee Brown slide over or is it someone else?
Elcaballo45
Dee will play the point now, but his 3-10 shooting can't continue if we want to win these big games coming up....
whitesoxfan99
That's a big blow. Who runs the point now? does Dee Brown slide over or is it someone else? Dee Brown will, Luther Head will start at the two and freshman Richard McBride will see a lot of playing time. Jerance Howard is our other guard and although he has no jump shot whatsoever, he is a serviceable PG for short periods of time.
WSoxShuf
My sister's roomate is dating Richard McBride. Sometimes, injuries help a team in college sports. If Illinois plays well without him, look out when he gets back. Sort of like the loss of Mike Lee for my hawks. oh and beat mizzou, those cheaters. I'm not sure Mizzou will have a basketball program left when the Illinois game rolls around. Talk about a program in turmoil!!!

Nokona
Reading the paper today it sounds like those Maralyned Easter Shoreians played dirty.
whitesoxfan99
Reading the paper today it sounds like those Maralyned Easter Shoreians played dirty. I was there, and yes they were pretty dirty. The screen was borderline legal but clearly unnecessary in a blowout, not to mention they were talking trash before a game in which they never had even a slight chance. The other play that stood out is when they purposely fouled Brian Randle when he was going up for a dunk that he completed anyways but fouling a guy hard when they're in the air is always dangerous. Well to quote myself here.... McBride surely did step up in Williams's absence.. This breakout game may result in an even better team when williams gets back... Go Illini!
