That's terrible... Michigan's lost to Iowa the last two years by a combined score of 64 - 36... this years nuetral site game would no doubt be dominated by Iowa yet again..

Lloyd Carr =07-minister.jpg

"My feelings - as usual - we will slaughter them all"

"We are not afraid of the Hawkeyes. Allah has condemned them. They are stupid. They are stupid" (dramatic pause) "and they are condemned."

I was at the 2002 game - we got rolled - it was a 1 point game and Michigan was going for the lead, turnover, and the momentum swallowed us

Iowa fans were actually rather uncool, not the Iowa fans of years past

in 2003 Michigan lost by what, 3 points, and it was soley punting team miscues --

and in 2003, there was one team alone in first place in the Big 10 and it was not Iowa

I have no disrespect for Iowa, they have been a tough rival for the last two decades and I have seen Iowa lose by 56 and I have seen them win but trash talk? Out of place for either school.

I will happily take Michigan's over all record against Iowa any day, and our 4th place ranking in the polls and BCS, knowing we can finish as #2 this season, and while we lose Navarre and Perry and Pape I know what we have coming back next season -

trash talk is out of line and I wouldn't bet on Iowa next season against Michigan

and that is not Lloyd Carr's speaking cadence at all, not even a bad parody, that is just so totally off. No points at all.

I think we've gone over this before... I do actually follow Michigan football, But I really hate Lloyd Carr. I saw two lists today that had him as a coach of the year candidate. And i feel even an average coach would have had that michigan team Undefeated heading into the Ohio St game. While the team that played OSU was obviously a well coached club. I still think Michigan deserves better.

Iowa looks at Michigan as a big game. Michigan can't simply put the uniform on and beat the hawkeyes. They have to play a fundamentally sound, smart, well-coached football. Iowa will give you enough rope to strangle yourself with, the same is true with Ohio St. They don't necessarily beat other teams as much as they allow other teams to beat themselves. Carr's record versus thos two the last 3 seasons is (2-4) and two years ago neither Iowa nor OSU you was very good. I just see Michigan as an extremely talented program and the only thing I see holding them back is Lloyd Carr.

Don't even start.

Everyone here knows, (even Iowa fan Jason) that Michigan is the more talented team.

Lloyd Carr has never claimed victory before games. In fact before games Lloyd is a very composed coach. He simply says we have to do this and this and this to win this game.

Of course, if you ask him something at half time he may not be as composed

The two most exciting Michigan vs. Iowa games I can remember:

1) Michigan vs. Iowa 1997, close game all the way through.

2) Michigan vs. Iowa 2001, God Bless you Marquis Walker and your awesome one-handed catch.

I think it was 1883, maybe 84, UM won when Iowa missed a field goal as the clock ticked down - I was in the stadium as the clock hit zero at 3:45 - I had a wedding 130 miles away at 6:00 and I made it - since you know what the Big House is like and getting out of there, I thought you'd might appreciate my accomplishment --

I like it better like in 77 (or 78), when we win over Iowa by 56.

The 1997 game was so instense and we knew the season rode on that -

Oh yeah, getting out of their is a mess. The best place to park is Pioneer, it is easy to get on the highway from there, quick deal. At the OSU game, we parked behind a restaurant in downtown ann arbor and traffic getting through Ann Arbor to the highway was a nightmare.

Christ, you are old. :o

Christ is older than me...

but sports wise, more years is just more perspective. (And that allows me to know that the Cheat's comments on Lloyd Carr are just silly, but then again, some people didn't like Bo Schembechler either.)

Someday you'll either be my age or you'll be dead. It just goes with being mortal.

But I have seen the Sox in the world series and not many others here can say that!

I think that was my point, a good coach gets more out of his team. My point is I think Michigan is one of the most talented team in the nation, but hey were unprepared on two occasions this season and, as a fan, I can't really accept that...

coaching most often shows in special teams and general effort. Michigan is NO DOUBT more talented than Iowa, half of the big ten is. And yet, Iowa has finished in the top 15 in the nation in both of the last 2 years, while having inferior talent to those simillarly ranked. That's the main reason I rag on Carr, I don't doubt that he is a good guy, he hasn't gotten the most out of his talent pool. I see at least two More talented coaches in the big ten and I think MIchigan deserves better.

Iowa and Michagan are my two favorite college football teams. So I can say from watching the games over the years. 84, 85, 89, 90, 97, 2001,02, 03 all were great contests.

97 was the first year I can honestly say I rooted against Iowa -- I was a freshmen at ISU. and really Haden's last hurrah

2001 was the first time you could see the porgram that Ferentz had installed was going to be effective.

ISU as in Iowa State?
