Chisoxfn
I know, Yas, but I want something to happen NOW. Maybe I'm too much like a kid on Christmas Eve or whatever, but I just had a feeling that something great was going to happen this weekend. As a matter of fact, if the hotels in New Orleans weren't completely filled, I was going to fly down there. Instead, I'll just fly down there next month and enjoy the Bayou. Just remember a lot of people wanted a deal to happen when the Sox got Ritchie...and look how that turned out. Sox can't let their needs blind them. They have to wait for the right deals as the offseason has just begun.

Pastime
Chi, I am a White Sox fan. My dad, mom, 2 sisters, brother, wife, and wife's family are Cubs fans - yes, I'm the "black sheep." I've had enough of listening to them chirp. Maybe I'm just so restless and sick of listening to North Side bulls*** that I would take ANY big news as a relief to this barrage of "Cubs brooding." Why did I marry a Cubs fan? Because my love for her was greater than my hatred for her favorite baseball team. However, after listening to her crap for the last 6 months ......... Gene Honda Civic
That was on Mighty 1090 (Local Station in San Diego) during a live interview with Towers, who also said he feels Lofton will be elsewhere. The yanks--- that's where loftons at. He supposedly signed with them. Bernie williams is apperently a DH now.

So where does that leave Giambi? He wont be able to play 1B everyday.
YASNY
So where does that leave Giambi? He wont be able to play 1B everyday. Don't worry about. In fact, if the Yankees have any problems, George will throw money at it till it goes away.
Gene Honda Civic
So where does that leave Giambi? He wont be able to play 1B everyday. I think that's the plan -- I guess they feel his knee will be healthy by april. I'm sure they they'll swap guys out, give him about a day off per week. But it looks like he is the everyday first baseman.
Loaiza21
Wouldn't a lot of Sox fans jump back on the bandwagon if the Sox nabbed Maddux? Makes alot of sense to me.
Texsox
If we got Maddux a couple of thoughts We would be sticking it to the north side just like we stuck it to them with Santo and Kessinger and Sosa. "We had him when he was good" would be the Cub fan retort. Maddux would benefit from a switch to the A.L. and it would probably help him in his drive for 300 wins. I would expect 10-12 wins, not be surprised if he had 15, lead the parade at 18, and probably die from shock at 20. KW only has a few $$$$ chips to spend. This would be the spot I'd like to see him invest in. Won't happen.

A trade of Maggs for Soriano though would put all bets off as KW would all of a sudden have $8-10 mil to spend. Still doubtful but at least the dream would be possible. The Critic
Why did I marry a Cubs fan? Because my love for her was greater than my hatred for her favorite baseball team. However, after listening to her crap for the last 6 months ......... I'd tell you that these are grounds for divorce - "irreconcilable differences" and all that - but after the scalping decision recently, it seems that judges are Cub fans, too, so you'd get taken to the cleaners. Better just sit there and take it - that's why I married a BREWERS fan - - although she still reminds me that the 82 Brewers made it to the World Series -
