southsider2k5
Borchard or Reed. Most likely Borch, unless another OF was involved in the deal.
The_Godfather
Honestly If we trade Mags look for the sox to make a very fast move on Juan Gone and get him signed very shortly after the trade. This may be another reason the trade is taking a little longer then we would like. ( sox's making sure they have a deal in place with Juan before pulling the trigger on the Mags trade )
Gene Honda Civic
Borchard or Reed. Most likely Borch, unless another OF was involved in the deal. I think the Borchard experiment is going to end rather quickly... Unless he can fix that gaping hole in his swing, he will not be around the white sox organization too long.... I mean he sure fits the mold of a grinder though
Chisoxfn
I'm guessing somehow the Sox would then move either Thomas or Konerko and move Lee and play Juan Gonzalez in left and a youngster like Reed/Rowand in right. But it would probably be a FA acquisition.
The_Godfather
I really Like Mags alot.... since he came up in 98 but I have to admit trading him and his large contract and bringing Juan Gonzalez in I would really like to see what he could do here. Another thing he would cost like 9 million less atleast and I think put up better numbers somewhere in the area of .314- .325 avg, 35-45 HR, 115-140 RBI's for 5 million I would love it. The Beast
I say we keep Magglio. No one will fill the void COMPLETELY in Right. Besides, we have our problems in Center to deal with.
JoshPR
Aaron Rowand Will be in Center. Could Be Juan Gone Cheap......
Chisoxfn
Aaron Rowand Will be in Center. Could Be Juan Gone Cheap...... And if they get a 2nd baseman, then I think Willie Harris will be in center, but one of Harris and Rowand will be the starting CF. With Reed and Borchard getting outside chances, but highly unlikely (especially Reed).
JoshPR
Again Consider Juan Gone......
Chisoxfn
Again Consider Juan Gone...... Defensively he's a huge liability in right, but I guess he could play there. I would like to see Juan Gone a Sox though.
southsider2k5
Put me firmly in the "f*** Juan Gonzalez" camp. The last thing we need is another asshole like this in the clubhouse. Plus is a little wimp who is always hurt. I would rather have a "grinder" than an asshole...

And from what a little Birdie was told me here the Sox are interested. A healthy Juan could help but i'm with You.. Don't put him in the Field And why is Juan An Asshole??? Have you talked with him or Something? Just asking?

cwsox
Aaron Rowand Will be in Center. Could Be Juan Gone Cheap...... Having witnessed Juan Gone's "I don't give a s***" playing style in Detroit, I vehemently do not want him in a Sox uniform. I give him credit for honesty - he made it clear he wanted nothing to do with Detroit and Comerica Park, but he also delivered by some of the most incredible "who cares?" play I have seen this side of D'Angelo Jimenez, except D'Lo sometimes cared. Even if he claimed he was motivated (and why should that even be an issue with a player we get) in December or March, once he has whatwever incident he needs where he gets p.o.ed, we are left with an "I'm not even going to try" player for the rest of the season. And remember that his original b**** was the size of Comerica's outfield. And for that he quit. Once he has to run to catch a ball at USCF or hits a fly ball to the warning track at USCF... No. No to Juan Gonzales. No. never. No way.
JoshPR
The Cell Ain't as Big as Comerica. Everybody gots there opinion tho. I just saying what I have heard from the Horses Mouth

Chisoxfn
And from what a little Birdie was told me here the Sox are interested. A healthy Juan could help but i'm with You.. Don't put him in the Field And why is Juan An Asshole??? Have you talked with him or Something? Just asking? Did I say he was an ass??? If so, the only thing I know about Juan Gone is he's been reported to be sour at times. I have no idea and I didn't know I posted that. Usually I try not to make mention of a players personality cause Everett was always talked about a complete jackass and from the moment he joined the team all he did was play his ass off and become one of my favs.
cwsox
You don't have to belive me.... And you got your Opinion. Again, I did not say that I did not believe you. do you know Juan Gone? If I have spoken less than praise about a friend, I am not commenting on him as a person but as someone who watched his play in Detroit. At any rate, his public image would need some work. That public image may be fair or unfair. The Michigan media all believed he quit on the Tigers. I don't normally pay that much detailed attention to the Tigers but the last part of his career in Motown no one could miss the very public perception that he quit on the Tigers. And I do not recall him ever speaking against that perception, but I remember him complaining about the Tigers and Comerica and his play indicated someone going through the motions. If there is an argument against that, I would love to hear it. If he becomes a player on our team, he will have to do some PR for at least one fan and show every day that the rep he left Detroit with is not fair. DonkeyKongerko
My question is: How does Juan Gone even REMOTELY resemble a "grinder". Maggs is 10 times the grinder that Juan is.
winninguglyin83
Juan Gone is way gone from his prime breaks down every year. rarely plays hard. bails out on teams. Texas told him to take a hike last year. FuhgetaboutJuan. rather see the Sox play a young guy and spend the money on a pitcher. last thing we need is an IDon'tGiveAShirt right fielder.
