Did I say he was an ass???

If so, the only thing I know about Juan Gone is he's been reported to be sour at times.  I have no idea and I didn't know I posted that.

Usually I try not to make mention of a players personality cause Everett was always talked about a complete jackass and from the moment he joined the team all he did was play his ass off and become one of my favs.

Jason, Got a little Mixed up I didn't say who said he was an Ass. It was the other Poster.

CWSOX, Infact one of Juan's representative's is a Friend of Mine and My Dads, And one of Juan best Friends is a Buddy of Mine, And Juan's Mother Lives a street down from me and I went to school with his Sister.

Ishmookie, Who is Tartable???

Josh, he means Danny Tartabull, not Tartable.

Me, I kind of think that we are about as screwed as we can get. I think that if we deal Maggs we almost HAVE to get Izturis. Right now, I have no faith in any of the in-house 2Bman we have....I like Willie Harris and think he might be able to do some things some day, but I don't like him at 2B. I would much rather have him play CF and use his God-given talent and be able to cover about 50 feet to either side. That gives us one dimension in the OF that we lacked almost at all times last year and that is range - we never at one point had it with our starters. With Willie, we do, no matter who we put in RF.

Speaking of RF, why not put Rowand there? That's what he came up as, he has the arm to do it, and has more then enough range(more range then Maggs). He won't put up the numbers offensively that Maggs would(unless some sort of something that is slightly short of a miracle happened). I then say we use Thomas at 1B and we sign Juan and he DH's, with Lee in LF. Our lineup then looks something like this:

1) Harris - CF

2) Rowand - RF

3) Gonzalez - DH

4) Thomas OR Lee(does not matter) - 1B for Thomas, LF for Lee

5) the non-cleanup hitter

6) Valentin - SS

7) Crede - 3B

8) Olivo - C

9) Izturis/Uribe/whoever else wants to try - 2B

It's not a good lineup by any means(until you get to the middle of the order), but I think it has a chance to be successful. In this game, you MUST take risks to succeed. This is as big a risk as I would be willing to take, and I would hope that under the reign of the Ozz, Willie would be able to get his s*** figured out.

BTW, Konerko would be traded elsewhere for peanuts.

Back to Magglio (From the L.A. Times):

  Quote
White Sox General Manager Ken Williams wants standout reliever Guillermo Mota as the centerpiece of a package that, according to officials, must also include a starter and two top prospects.

Dodger sources said Williams is being unreasonable because Ordonez, who turns 30 Jan. 28, is owed $14 million under the final season of his contract and then can become a free agent.

You notice that the "Dodger sources" say KW is being unreasonable because Maggs is expensive and could walk. He his not being unreasonable, apparently, in baseball only terms. Stick by your guns Kenny. Maggs, even for one year, is worth it. Maggs in his walk year could very well be the AL MVP.

I agree...if Kenny continues to stick by his guns, then your putting the Dodgers to fold. If in fact the Sox don't have to move Magglio, then I think they put themselves in a very good position (At least make other teams believe this). And if they sign Ponson, you gotta believe teams start to think..wait are they selling...which may be enough to force the dodgers hand.

If the Dodgers lose out on Nomar (or if the deal doesn't go through) they will be much more pressed to make the deal.
