Chisoxfn
Interesting move. I wonder why they are doing PTBNL, I figured now that the Rule V is done, they wouldn't need to do that.
winninguglyin83
Dustan Mohr, who always seems to punish the White Sox and is the guy who broke Benjie Molina's hand on the brutal slide into home plate, was sent to San Francisco for a player to be named later. Damn, if the Twins can't even afford to keep scrappers like him, they really must be tightening the screws on the checkbook. Bet Jerry admires the hell out of Pohlad. Chisoxfn
Lmao....Pohlad a billionaire, but that 500 K scrappy is just too expensive. Gonna merge this in with a thread on this topic
Gene Honda Civic
Interesting move. I wonder why they are doing PTBNL, I figured now that the Rule V is done, they wouldn't need to do that. That probably means they've got a choice of a few, and they will wait and see how most of the offseason goes... who fits best with thier team... i don't even know the PTBNL and I think it's a good move... Mohr, I think, wasn't much of a prospect, and didn't project to being much of a Major Leaguer, so trading him for even a prospect is an upgrade. Wong & Owens
Dustan Mohr, who always seems to punish the White Sox Mohr's stats vs. the White Sox since 2001: BA: .267 OBP: .313 HR's: 1 RBI'S: 9 At Bats: 90 K's: 19 That's quite a savage beating he's put on our beloved Pale Hose

moochpuppy
K's: 19 That's one of the reasons he's gone. He's a whiff machine. The other reason is the Twins are stocked with outfielders.
Chisoxfn
The Twins want to give their two young outfielders playing time. Plus Mohr didn't exactly put up Killer numbers. He's a solid role playing outfielder, no more, no less.

He's a solid role playing outfielder, no more, no less. I disagree. I think you give him a shot at starting, he puts up pretty solid numbers. You may not see those numbers at Pac Bell Park, mainly because that place is a b**** to hit in(unless your name is Barry Bonds), but I think he could hit .275 25 75, maybe even better, with regular playing time. The Twins traded him not because he was bad but because they had 4 outfielders worthy of starting and only 3 can play OF(which I don't think I had to explain). At that point, you decide two that are expendable, consider what you could hypothetically get if one was traded and what the other would produce for your team, and make the trade. The Twins felt they had no need for Dustan Mohr, and before you know it, he is teammates with the greatest player of this generation. This was solely a baseball move to free up a roster space.
