JDsDirtySox
Nothing really new... George Offman says, Sources say KW will be keeping Nomar Garciaparra once traded to the White Sox unless the Dodgers want to take Konerko as well. He also says Jose will be heading to Seattle sometime today. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it is all as close to done as it can get. Our Hot Stove is OVERHEATING! Chisoxfn
Screw making the Dodgers take Konerko as well..they will take him anyway, imo. I so hope the Sox keep Williamson and Nomar and use Konerko and Jose as bait and if they get Damon use him as bait. I wonder what JR is willing to do with Nomar cause he's gonna cost about 12-14 mill a year. Do you want and see if he does good in Chicago and take your chances that you can sign him later or sign him now?
FlaSoxxJim
Is it confirmed that it's Guillen we'd get in return from Seattle?

Cali
I don't think the Dodgers will take PK too, that'll probably be too much for them. I'm all for keeping Nomar.
Cali
Is it confirmed that it's Guillen we'd get in return from Seattle? Well we won't really need him if they're keeping Nomar, unless Guillen can play second.
RudyLawRules
Wasn't there talk of Jose to SEA for Garcia?
southsider2k5
Wasn't there talk of Jose to SEA for Garcia? It wouldn't work because we would actually take on $3 mil in salary in that deal. We would have to include Koch or Konerko.
Chisoxfn
Is it confirmed that it's Guillen we'd get in return from Seattle? No...but it would kind of make sense if they get Guillen. He can play 3rd, ss, and 2nd and is a perfect two hole hitter (The problem is the Sox would need a leadoff hitter). I know one thing, I will miss Magglio...and if the Sox one day want a 100 mill payroll...I'd love to see Magglio brought back next year I'd say it will be Guillen/Wynn/Garcia (One of those 3) and i'd pretty much book it as that. JDsDirtySox
The one positive thing for us if Nomar heads our way is Tellem (his agent). He and JR are good friends, and could probably work something out if JR wants to. With that being said, I still think he will end up in LA. But one Arod for Manny happens, and Nomar for Maggs happens... that puts KW in the drivers seat. I would believe he could get the Dodgers and Danny Evans to do just about whatever he wants them to do. The Dodgers had Maggs offered to them from us, and Nomar offered to them from the Bo Sox, but didn't want to pay the price. Now I bet they are gonna overpay whether they like it or not. GO Sox! sox4lifeinPA
anything to get rid of valentine we're not getting john valentine from the red sox... but Jose VALENTIN, might go to Seattle.
Chisoxfn
It wouldn't work because we would actually take on $3 mil in salary in that deal. We would have to include Koch or Konerko. Unless, Garcia agreed to a one yr 6 mill deal, which would mean the Sox only take on a mill. This would of course depend on them having to then unload Koch and Konerko. I find it more likely that it will be Wynn or Guillen cause both would fill needs (cf/leadoff hitter; 2nd/2 hole hitter) with Harris probably playing the other position. The thing is, I wonder where the sox payroll stands after all this. Is Nomar going to be one of those above the payroll guys?

If we could sign Garcia and still make a run at Ponson, that ticket increase would be forgotten. I am not sure about Nomar though. I think he has many more questions marks, (i.e. injuries, hitting away from Fenway and wanting to be here,) than Ordonez. If we could get for Ordonez and Valentin; Williamson, Kim, Mota, Perez, Garcia and Guillen and two stud young pitchers (and trade them for Huff,) I would be happy. Then if we signed a lefty bat... A pen of Willamson,Kim,Mota,Marte,Koch, Wunsch, and Shoenweis Rotation; Buerhle, E-LO, Garcia, Perez, and Garland (maybe Ponson) Lineup; Uribe;Guillen;Huff;Thomas;Lee;Konerko;Crede;Rowand;Olivo I can live with this. Steve Bartman's my idol
I am not sure I like that lineup; I don't like the fact you got Uribe, Guillen, Olivo, Konerko, Huff, Rowand, all in one time. I dont see too much run production out of that bunch, if you sign Juan Gonzalez, that would look better. Also, dump Billy Crotch, to the Mets and get Royce Ring back. Chisoxfn
Remember, Aubrey Huff put up in my opinion, better numbers then Maggs last year. Not that I think the Sox are gonna get huff, although it would be nice.

Steve Bartman's my idol
Do you know Huff's numbers off hand, if thats the case can he play centerfield, if so, I would still sign Juan Gonzalez for right.
