Says of course like it has said here that it hinges on ARod, but what happens if the ARod-Ramirez trade isn't sorted out by the Thursday deadline? Then we don't get Nomar, still have Maggs, and are basically forced to move him. How would Maggs be able to play here knowing that we tried to trade him but couldn't due to forces beyond his control?

Personally, here is what I want to happen. We get Nomar, Williamson, Kim from BoSox, send Valentin to Seattle for whatever, and get a starter from Konerko and Koch. Also, what about the possibility of Kim starting for us, if he is included?

Because he's being paid to do so. He has to know that the Sox were never going to pony up the dough for an extension and thusly try to trade him while the Sox can still get something for him. That isn't something to take personally, that's simply the economics of baseball, especially southside Chicago baseball.

Because baseball is a business and sometimes things happen and they don't go through.

If he stays in Chicago, Maggs is a class act, and I have no doubt he'd bring his A game. Maggs will always be one of my favorite players and he'll be greatly missed, but at the same time, The Sox tried to work an extension and now they are moving on to Nomar...who could be the type of star poewr the Sox need...or could be turned into pitching, pitching and more pitching.

Its all so wait and see right now. But if the Sox get Nomar...then Evans gets the short end of the stick because he has absolutely no leverage and either overpays for Nomar or gets Konerko (Solid...but the Sox get there wish too, cause they get pitching and a bit of payroll relief).

The huge question is...will Nomar stay, if he does, will the Sox pay him, and does this mean their budget goes up.

I brought up Kim for Koch a few weeks ago and was told to go play video games. Kim had a mental breakdown last year but he is very young. I think he could be the 5th starter or a good bullpen arm. Asian fans might have an increased interest when he starts. If you disagree, I welcome well thought out opinions. Please don't tell me to go play video games. I'm not a draft pick anymore. Although, I do like video games.

Its a business and its his job. Trades happen all the time and trades that are on the verge of happening sometimes fall apart at the last minute. Its the nature of the business. Don't forget, Jon Garland was almost an Angel and then the Angels pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute and I haven't ever heard Garland complain about the situation.

Is there really a deadline for this trade? If so, why can't a trade be made after Thursday? thanx

I am a big Kim fan. Don't know how much he makes though...I think thats the issue, but if the Sox unloaded Koch and Maggs for Nomar, Kim and Williamson I'd be incredibly happy, although I wouldn't move Kim to the rotation.

This would be a GREAT deal for him. Going to Boston, which in getting A-Rod, Shilling, & Foulke have all but sealed their spot in the playoffs. If I'm Maggs.. I'm at home screaming c'mon guys.... pull the trigger!!!
