aboz56
I believe the pitcher would then go to Texas. Munoz is the name I heard bandied about. I believe you are correct Rex. That's the way Stark explained it, but he didn't mention Munoz, but that would be fine with me.
aboz56
Perhaps the starter of this thread should change the title.
Soxbadger
I hope the pitcher is Wright, I have a feeling the pitcher is Munoz. Texas is pretty familiar with our talent after the Everett trade, probably some pitcher they wished they had not passed on. SB

Good, because if anyone would know it's Rex.. Oh wait, maybe I'm thinking of Hex Rudler? I don't know anymore. But yeah, Munoz would be better than Cotts or Honel. Steve Bartman's my idol
I hope the Dodgers are left out, and focus on Pudge to keep him away from the f--king Cubs, God I hate them with a passion. Any bets that this doesn't make the front page of the Chicago newspapers.

Chisoxfn
ESPN NEWS originally reported it would be done by 3:00 eastern, although I highly doubt that.
Steve Bartman's my idol
Let the Dodgers sign Pudge and the Orioles sign Javy, and with this trade that would be icing on the cake.

cwsox
A friendly reminder: there is only one Pudge and he wore #72. There is an IRod with his own non rip off Sox name. Now if his name is a rip off of some nonSix player, who cares, but don't rip of a Sox great's name for anyone else, please. If we don't have standards, then we are no better the cub fans. Steve Bartman's my idol
Your right he doesn't deserve to be called Pudge, my apologies, however, he does deserve some props for his playoff performance against the shlubs.

The Critic
Sorry, but I was never that much of a Carlton Fisk fan, so Rodriguez can be Pudge as far as I'm concerned. Didn't like Fisk with Boston and could take him or leave him when he was here. I was much more of a Luzinski and Baines guy during that era. Get over it...great, Fisk's nickname was Pudge...you don't like Rodriguez being called Pudge...nobody cares anymore.

Chisoxfn
Stark says Cotts or Wright could be included in a deal. I'll s*** a brick if Cotts is part of the deal. It makes no sense to me why the Sox would have to give in one of their top prospects. Nomar isn't necessarily a stud. Magglio had proved he could hit in all parks, Nomar has not proved that. His road splits blow. I think playing full time away from Boston will fix that, but its a risk.
aboz56
Latest from Jayson Stark, 4:15 PM EST Stark says the Dodgers are the big losers right now in the deal. Says unless they want to give up Mota, they won't get Nomar from the White Sox. Stark says that Cotts is the pitcher being mentioned as the minor leaguer (this would be a huge mistake IMO) or possibly Danny Wright. Stark says that A Rod's deal may be extended one-year as part of the deal. Stark says Garciaparra is NOT happy about the possibility of going to the White Sox. Says that it was basically one of the last places he wanted to go. Stark says the Sox are going to have to make some moves (Val) if they do acquire Nomar. DonkeyKongerko
Stark says Garciaparra is NOT happy about the possibility of going to the White Sox. Says that it was basically one of the last places he wanted to go. This is NOT good news. If we deal Maggs I really want a stud like Nomar in our batting order to replace him in addition to the bullpen help.
israel4ever
F Nomar then, if he doesn't want to come here, he makes billions of dollars for playing a game, and is married to Mia, he cant have everything can he? :fthecubs :fthecubs
