Cali
Man this guy should be fun as hell to watch, if he keeps these acts up Background: Armed with a mid-90s fastball and a theme song (Metallica's "Sad But True"), Ring was one of the best shows in college baseball in 2002. He made a name for himself by sprinting in from the bullpen, pawing at the mound and then throwing as hard as possible. That formula helped him set San Diego State records for saves in a season and career, and got him drafted 16th overall in June. Soxplosion
This may sound kinda out dated but he reminds me of that weird, dirt eating pitcher for the Angels in "Angels in the Outfield". I love energetic, crowd rilers like that. It could bring in more fans...

Since Fidrych only lasted a season plus a few months, I sure as hell hope not. And what is with the Metalica. Why can't we find some players with some taste. Hell, even Korn is better than the tired musical cliches of Metalica. I suppose we should be thankful he doesn't like Rob Zombie.

In case people out of California don't know, its the song Trevor Hoffman comes out to every time he comes in and the stadium goes nuts. Remember, he may be the best closer in baseball!!! I love having a closer with attitude and nothing is better for a closer then getting real pumped up. For starters, that adrenaline screws them up, but for closers, many of them need it. I think all closers should come to me if they need some good theme music! I guess Billy Koch needs some music too, to keep up with hoffman and percival, percival has f***in godsmack as his music that's a s***ty choice... So what we've learned from this thread, theme music= great closer

I can't see how Metallica's "Sad But True" could get a player jacked..... Ring should try some soothing Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, or Barry Manilow. Never bad mouth the musical stylings of MetallicA or KoRn
RedPinStripes
Korn f***ing rocks! what's wrong with divine? Oh, that's right, it will never make it past the language sensors. lol
Cali
I guess Billy Koch needs some music too, to keep up with hoffman and percival, percival has f***in godsmack as his music that's a s***ty choice... haha ask and ye shall recieve, from whitesox.com: MLB.com: What song should Sox fans learn for when you are called on to close a game? Koch: "Fuel" by Metallica. Because Metallica is the best band to ever walk the face of the earth. I always thought "Walk" by Pantera would be an awesome song to come out to. Of course only if the closer DOESN'T do that when he gets to the mound. Also a good one "Ten Ton Hammer" by Machine Head would be good, particularly the demo version, cause the intro is longer. Chisoxfn
I'd come out to Pain it Black by the Stones or to Back in Black.

Oh, that's right, it will never make it past the language sensors. lol You know I only posted about Korn to see how long before you would respond! This is the 21st century. Time to leave the 90s music behind and get same rap out there! I'd like to see a reliever take the field with a little Eminem (Guess who's back, back again...) and then have him dust the batter and hear a little Ludicris (Move b****, get out the way...) Cali
f*** that, If I'm a closer I'm coming out to some "Hate Song" by The Haunted, Old School Thrash Metal baby
cwsox
you're right, very old school. But some day we must leave the music of our teeny bopper years behind.
Cali
you're right, very old school. But some day we must leave the music of our teeny bopper years behind. wait I'm so confused, are you saying you've heard of The Haunted? Or You're agreeing that thrash metal is old school, OR are you calling the haunted a teenie bopper band.... I'm so confused Though when I say "old school" I mean the style, not the time period that song is like from '98.
cwsox
I know the Haunted. Not anywhere as well as you do, but I know who they are. I used to manage a Jimmy John's sub shop on the Western Michigan campus and I let the employees play whatever they wanted. They enjoyed keeping me up on music, and that's the way I like it anyway, I detest classic rock when people never learn anything new and make old rock music into a boomer's version of Lawrence Welk s***. My comment about teeny-bopper was directed to the age at which we first hear something, not to the Haunted. Thrash was always fun around midnight at the sub shop, although frankly at about 4 am I would rip it out of the cd player, had to have something not pounding in my skull after working all night. And when I think of old school in metal, I kind of flash back on Ronnie James Dio. Do you now Whale or Local H? I was going through some of my old cds yesterday and came upon both of them. Hobo Humpin Slobo Babe and High Fiving Mutha f***er were both both "store songs" for a while.

Thrash is fun most of the time though, not advisable when driving, you just want to start running people of the road I've heard the name of those bands just not any songs of there's.
