They also mention Reinsdorf talking to Ponson's agent, though. Who's to say that the Baltimore Sun is more trsutworthy than the Akron Beacon, anyway. If the SOx lose out on Ponson, though, I'd rather see KW sign Armas or Garcia if they're non-tendered than Johnson or Moss, though I'd be happy with almost any movement right now, as long as it shows the Sox aren't giving up on this season. Armas has an ALl-Star arm, though, if he can ever stay healthy, and a change of scenery might do Garcia good.

If Armas Jr is non-tendered, than I think the Sox would be stupid not to take a flier on this kid. It could turn out to be one of the biggest steals in baseball. I realize that this kid is coming off a major injury, but at his age, with his stuff, and his past sucess, the Sox could find themselves a diamond in the rough.

Prefer Jason Johnson over Moss.

If you worried about Cotts' control, Moss makes Cotts look like Curt Schilling. He had more walks than Ks last season. And he also allowed about 20 more hits than innings pitched.

No thanks.

Johnson is older, but he'd be functional as a Number 4 or 5 starter, capable of eating 175-200 innings.

At, of course, the Right price, the only price we pay

Neither Johnson or Moss has the potential of Armas, though. If the Sox get any of those guys I want it to be him. I'd like to get more than one, though. You can never have too much pitching.

Armas has deeply rooted problems that go beyond his injury. He throws way too many pitches to ever stay healthy. He is a 5 inning pitcher. I wouldn't mind if the sox took a chance on him, because he will probably be fairly cheap, but it wouldn't be a huge move because chances are that Armas will never be a real solid pitcher.

Jason Johnson was pretty solid last year, especially in the first half. I guess one could conclude that the reason he had a bumpy second half is that he doesn't get in too many full seasons like the one he had last year. If fatigue was the case, then chances are this year he would be able to stay strong longer.

Moss just needs to throw strikes!
