spataro51
Well, from what i am getting this is the latest news on the deal. It comes from roto world : ROTO WORLD---- Red Sox president Larry Lucchino said today that the A-Rod deal is dead, although the Rangers and Peter Gammons seem to disagree. Gammons is saying that the deal is going to get done this weekend, and the Rangers just had a press conference saying that the trade remains a possibility. According to Gammons, Lucchino has been pushed out of the talks, with owners Tom Werner and Tom Hicks directly negotiating right now. -----------We will just have to wait and see what goes on I personally don;t think this deal is dead. but i think the sox should start to worry about holes to fill at the moment such as starting pitchers that are going to be non-tendered such as garcia, armas etc. Lets get ponson while all this is going on! Yea but they aren't going to do this deal without us on the sidelines to gobble up Nomar, are they? Let's work on the deal to send nomar to the Dodgers. Or even better, screw Boston (I hate dealing with Gammons' love child) and send Maggs and Valentin to the Mariners for Garcia, Winn (decent lead off hitter), that young middle infielder and one of their stud pitching prospects. Then sign Ponson and then deal Danny Wright for Williamson.

Why should we focus on getting a fifth starter when there is more than one 2-3 starter available? Don't make no sense...
