MurcieOne
Just saw this blurb on SportsCenter.....any thoughts? Didn't see this posted yet, sorry if it's been mentioned before. I think we gotta make the playoffs before this guy becomes useful... I dunno If he's priority 1 right now for Kenny.
Chisoxfn
If were talking minor league signing, then I think him, just like I think Shawn Estes, would be nice low key minor league signings.
KipWellsFan
If were talking minor league signing, then I think him, just like I think Shawn Estes, would be nice low key minor league signings. I believe that El Duque will be able to get more than a minor-league deal.
DBAHO
I believe that El Duque will be able to get more than a minor-league deal. I'd think so too. I could see him goin to LA possibly if they lose Perez and need another starter, but sum1 will still guarantee him a deal. Maybe Detroit who really, really needs pitchin. They could overpay for him. witesoxfan
Him and Armas are two guys I would not mind seeing signed. Both have injury concerns, but when healthy, produce pretty damn well.
whitesoxin'
Hernandez and Damian Moss would be two solid pick ups, but we all know that wouldn't happen. I'd be satisfied with one of them for a 4 or 5 starter.
He_Gawn
Yea id love to see this guy on our team. I think he well have a year like lima did this year.
Dick Allen
Shoulder surgeries usually take more than a year to regain strength lost, if its regained at all. El Duque also is probably close to 45 years old. Stay away.
Soxfest
His real age is about
YASNY
It seems to me, that if the Expos, of all teams, released him, then his value is close to non-existant.
SuperSteve
I would take Orlando to be our fifth starter in a heartbeat (over the guys we have now).
Pastime
Since the team is "broke" and "penniless," expect to see guys like El Duque signed by us. We have to claim every reclamation project and broken-down person we can find. We don't have money, so we must build a team with Elmer's Glue and Scotch Tape. Thanks, Jerry. :fyou :fyou
Mathew
if that means El Pukeqez and Armass then that's sweet.
elrockinMT
Hernandez didn't pitch at all last year for Montreal and Bart won 15 games for us. Bart moves on for big bucks and we get Hernandez for real this time. Seems like the right scenario for the Sox.
KipWellsFan
Doesn't seem that we have any interest in him thus far. From rotoworld.com Orlando Hernandez - S - Montreal Expos Dec 20 If he comes cheap, the Marlins would like to make Orlando Hernandez their fifth starter. The Giants, Orioles and Rangers are among the other teams that figure to have interest in El Duque, who was non-tendered yesterday. Ishmookie
we had hernandez for like 2 minutes last year in the colon trade i say go for it!
Pastime
It truly depresses me to have to base the hopes of next season on bargain-basement players, reclamation projects, and guys who sign minor-league deals. This is what I used to use as fodder to laugh at the Cubs fans for doing. Thanks, Jerry. :fyou
