LDF
Shortstop Andy Gonzalez made good use of his winter, hitting .300-1-2 in 50 at-bats in the Puerto Rican League. He got significant playing time considering he just turned 21 what i don't understand is what does his age has to do with his playing time. Jim Fainter
Is Gonzales highly rated by the Sox? I know he hit about .280 at Bristol last year. Does anyone know where all those studs from last year's Bristol team are going to be playing this year? I'd like to see a few of them skip a classification or two. Especially Webster. witesoxfan
I read on him somewhere that this year he could vault to being one of the top 2 prospects in our system, probably behind Honel.
Jim Fainter
It still blows my mind how a kid so young can come from nowhere and be so good, so fast. Everyone will be following him very closely this year. Whoever is responsible for scouting/signing him should get a fat raise.
CSF
The real question is: How is he defensively. We haven't really had a good defensive SS since Ozzie left town.
Jim Fainter
You didn't like Mike Caruso?
CSF
You didn't like Mike Caruso? A classic no-hit, no-field type of player.
Cerbaho-WG
Good ol' Andy Gonzalez. Good SS, very sound offensively, defensively. Has an absolute cannon for an arm, can throw about 93 off a mound. Top 2 prospect behind Honel? I think that Webster is far better than him, but he should be a Top 5 guy. witesoxfan
Jeezus....93 off the mound? That's pretty fast.
baggio202
ive heard nothing but good things about this kid....very similiar body to nomar and arod..tall and slender...and scouts have compared him to both...though i think thats kinda rediculous.. never seen him play so lets hope the hype is real
