witesoxfan
David Wells was definitely a negative. He did the same thing Royce did, he ruined this teams chemistry... Can you tell me why Wells ruined team chemistry? So he called out Frank Thomas and they had an argument....they then talked and made up, and Wells continued to pitch, while Thomas underwent surgery. Wells than helped Mark Buehrle mature as a pitcher....without David Wells, we would be a s***ty team today...we wouldn't have had to have gone through the Ritchie fiasco, but we sure as hell wouldn't have Colon. I'd say the Wells trade was positive in more than one way...the only way it was negative was the fact that it was an embarrassment for the White Sox AT THE TIME, being shouldergate and all....in the end, it was a very good move for what it did as a whole....just MHO anyways. cwsox
That trade has to be at best neutral in that at least we got a few months of pitching out of Wells and nobody has gotten from Sirotka since. And whatever Wells did with Buerhle is a positive. But Wells was also a Ditka-wannabe, wanted to own Chicago and he shot off his mouth (about Frank) like he possessed all truth and knowledge. I am glad he is gone.

Jim Fainter
It took me over a year to forget the Baldwin trade with the Dodgers, and you all just brought it up. Still blows my mind. We give up Baldwin for a career, 34 year old minor league outfielder named Berry who couldn't hit, AND we agreed to pay Baldwins's salary. Then the truth came out that KW really wanted some pitcher named Barry, but KW couldn't spell and he got the first names confused. They couldn't write stuff like this for a sit-com show. How did the Dodgers even have the guts to suggest we pay the rest of Baldwin's salary, unless it was KW's idea in the first place? Will someone please tell me how Kenny explained this to the media. Did he have a press conference to introduce Berry? If so, did he arrive in a turnip truck? I'm still embarrassed.

witesoxfan
And kids wonder why the hell you take spelling in school! JR should have checked KW's report card from about 1st grade....if you don't know the difference between Barry and Berry, than you should get the hell out of here. Considering KW was trading Baldwin for a 34 y/o minor leaguer, I guess the Dodgers Organization figured, "What the f***? Let's see if KW will pay Baldwins salary too." hold2dibber
Sandy Alomar, Jr. Trade-Neutral>>>>>>>. we got him back and got a prospect to boot. however signing him as a fa cost us a 1 rounder and that i can't say that was a positive. this should be a dual statement. The Rockies didn't offer him arbitration, so the Sox will not have to give up a draft choice based upon signing him.
