whitesoxin'
The Plumbers union that used to sponser the shower has stopped it's sponsorship, according to reports on WSI by a guy whos friend is part of the union. He said his friend told him that JR had raised the sponsorship price and the union decided not to continue. JR is too cheap to pay for it by himself, because it would cost him so much, about $3 a game. JR :fyou

I mean, where exactly did they figure it'd be $3?
DBAHO
At least the White Sox ain't desperate enough to put weird ass sponsors around their park. Any1 else remember in Major League 2 all the proctologist signs in right field.
whitesoxin'
Personally, I'll wait till its announced. I'm not big on inside info. I was just pondering the thought. It was said that because of renovations on the concourse it would have to be moved and JR was going to make the sponsors pay for it to be moved to a less popular area, such as right field and they didn't want to pay more for something of less value. CubsSuck1
Well, we want a larger payroll, but are not allowed to raise sponorship costs? As they say, money does not grow on trees.

The Critic
Couldn't possibly care less if the shower stays or goes. Never felt the need to soak myself at the ballpark. That thing doesn't fall under the category of "treasured tradition" IMHO.

Pastime
It doesn't really matter anyway. The "white-trash" like William Ligue wouldn't use that shower anyways, even though they are the prime candidates for a little cleansing action. Larry Horse says: "Cubs fans who come to SoxPark drunk are too 'tinky'.

Pastime
In a drunken stupor, all Ligue would do is try to rip the shower head out of the wall, (since he's probably never seen one before in his life). He would think it's an alien's head coming out of the wall to get him or something. If only we could be that lucky and fortunate.
Texsox
showers, exploding scoreboards, dog days, shorts, world's largest tavern. I'm rethinking the comment that Sox fans do not like hot dogs Let me run this bit of irony by you. If it is true that they have to relocate the shower to right field and JR doesn't want to pay to move it. Is the PLUMBERS UNION saying it is too expensive to move? Perhaps they could use "non-union" plumbers to lower the cost I love the spot JR has them in.
cwsox
I've read through that tedious thread on WSI. The $3 figure is just a number tossed out by Daver. As for the rest, it is total hearsay - some guy has a buddy who heard... there is nothing remotely confirmed about it I know things are slow but the expressions of utrage or whatever might best wait until we have an idea if this is remotely true - and somehow I doubt it is

YASNY
Now, I have to tell you, this Shower thing is vitally important to our chances of winning the division this year. I'm VERY concerned.

The mods shove a leash up peoples ass so nobody can say anything unless its approved by the WSI Gestapo (Daver, phg whoever ) Daver himself is an arrogant tool. f*** him. He thinks he's god or something cause he has a little power over a message board.

NUKE_CLEVELAND
I'm relatively new to this site and only went on WSI a little bit before, and is there so fued between the two boards or something? If so, why is that? Back in the late summer 2002 there was a big civil war on WSI because the mods got out of control with their abuse of power. A lot of the heavy hitters got pissed off at them and defected and Soxnet.net really picked up steam as a result. Thanks to the Mods here for providing a place where us rabid, opinionated and not always tactful sox fans can express themselves without fear of being banned for trivial reasons.
