israel4ever
Bo Jackson was awesome while he was here. I remember hom quite fondly and he did get plenty of love from Sox fans during his stay here. I dont think he was unsung at all. Bo Jackson was one of the most OVERRATED baseball players ever. Check his stats.

C.Rector
Luke Appling. Although most Sox fans know who he was, if you ever mention his name to a non-Sox fan, chances are pretty good that they've never heard of him before.

NUKE_CLEVELAND
great reply.... that was very intersting hearing those nicknames again brings back some good memories of the old sox Gotta say though i really miss Wimpy and Hawk together, they were awesome At least Wimpy doesn't kiss Hawks ass the way DJ does. DJ is nothing but a yes man for Hawk and most of the time I find myself turning off the TV sound and putting on Rooney and Farmer on the radio. greg775
Yasny: Gary Peters pitched and hit when I was a little kid and I loved him. My dream is still to talk to him. He lives in Sarasota I guess. There's a good Sox book with a story on him and I guess he was a pretty nice guy. I'll never forget listening to a gam eon radio next to bed and he hit a pinch hit home run vs. cleveland. As you can recall, he could hit the baseball. As you can recall, he could hit the baseball. I recall that very fondly. I have a Gray Peters story for you. He was with Boston when Fisk came up, an old veteran at that point. One game Peters was getting shelled or had given up a monster shot, or both. Fisk came out to mound and Peters looked at the rookie catcher and said "What the f*** do you want." Pudge just turned around and back behind the plate. I don't remember where I heard this story, but Pudge was telling it. I remember distinctly because they are two of my favorite players ever. Though, their Sox were the wrong color at the time.

Elcaballo45
Maybe we should start a nickname thread, but i was thinking if Graig Grebeck was little hurt, then how about Miguel Olivo being Mini Caballo? Just a thought....

greg775
Yasni, that is an awesome story! Thanks for sharing. I remember one game Peters batted I believe seventh in the order cause he hit so well. Also thanks for the Buddy Bradford stats, but didn't it say he hit .220 career? That ain't too spiffy.
