witesoxfan
Panthers win 29-10....enough said. In other news, Tennessee wins a close game 20-17....of course, I'm sure everyone knows this already and I'm just repeating old news. That's OK though. DBAHO
Wasn't a good nite at all. Hambrick ain't gonna be back, Parcells has had enough of his ass. And if Bill can find a good veteran QB, Quincy won't be startin next year either.

And if Bill can find a good veteran QB, Quincy won't be startin next year either. That is not doubted at all. The Cowboys showed their weaknesses tonight, those being at the halfback position and at the quarterback position. I could see a guy like Jeff Smoker or Josh Harris getting selected by Parcells in the 2nd or 3rd round and fixed up into a good QB.

I think Parcells and Jones will go afta either an OG to replace Allen or Gurode, a RB if Kevin Jones or sum1 else really good has slipped, or a pass rushing DE to replace Ekebun with their 1st round pick. I can't see em pickin up a QB since they already hav Hutchison and Romo, plus Parcells wants a veteran to help stabilize da position. Spiff
Just goes to show you what a fluke that the Cowboys were. That's not really fair to call them a fluke. They were a tough team that played hard and didn't beat themselves. They won because they did the little things right, and they beat who they were supposed to but often, like tonight they just didn't have the talent to overcome their mistakes. Hell I hate the Cowboys as much as anyone but to call them a fluke is a cheapshot, when that team exceeded everyone's expectations.

That really showed tonite, plus Mario Edwards mite not be back next year as well, afta his sub standard performance especially on the Davis TD run when he slipped at the 20 yard line. NUKE_CLEVELAND
How could the Cowboys be called Americas team when they are always running home with their head between their legs after a big game?
kapkomet
I live in Dallas and I can't stand the Cowboys. But I do have to agree that calling them a fluke is a bit harsh. They did as good as they could with the talent they had. Period. No more, no less. Parcells, as much of a crazy ass as anyone, at least gives his guys confidence week in and week out. The man finds his teams' strengths and coaches and builds his team around it. He did it all year and this team was never a threat to go deep into the playoffs, but they were a playoffs team this year more then anything because they believed in themselves. Hell I hate the Cowboys as much as anyone but to call them a fluke is a cheapshot, when that team exceeded everyone's expectations. And there defense was tough as nails, especially with their backs against the wall. I recall the most from watching their game against the Bills where the Bills would get on the Dallas 25-30 and then that defense would force a big turnover. And tonight, it showed again, forcing Carolina to kick 5 field goals. They let them score touchdowns on 2 of those, then it instantly becomes a rout where Dallas has no shot whatsoever and the score becomes 39-10, and if they score another touchdown instead of a field goal, it is 46-10....etc, etc, etc, you get the picture. If they get decent offensively, they will be a powerhouse, though I hate admitting it. They get themselves a QB and a HB, and they are among the best in the league. Texsox
Just goes to show you what a fluke that the Cowboys were. I think it goes to show how during the regular season great coaches make a difference. Parcell's had a coach of the year season. That was a .500 team at best. southsider2k5
When you get killed like the Cowboys did in the first round of the playoffs, that is a fluke, just like the Bears of '01. All the analogies about them squeezing all of the talent possible out of their roster just furthers that in my mind,

They enjoyed at least 2 or 3 wins more than they should have.
