LDF
should he be enshrine in the hall? i really have some mix feelings on this, on one side his talent and accomplishment warrant it, however he has never admitted his wrong doings as ozzie smith has said. if they make some special concessions on this, what does that say for any future misdealings. what about some of those players who are caught with drugs, should they make the hall or fame. my other pet peeved is shoeless joe jackson, he should be in the hall however by what standard should we judge them. Jim Fainter
Put his bust in a separate room, and he should get a big frigging asterisk *** "As a player only, because as a manager he illegally bet on his own team as well as other teams, and thus he caused shame and discredit to the game." Then, hire him as a hitting/sliding/bunting/baserunning coach for the Sox. He could teach our kids a lot about how to play the game, and he would be great for attendance, so then JR can go out and sign Royce Clayton for $5 Million/ year to sit on the bench in his tennies. baggio202
im sure there are others out there that are just as qualified as rose to teach our players the fundementals that arnt banned from baseball... for the record...they couldnt put rose in the hall as just a player...either all of him or none of him can go in according to hall rules as they stand... Guest hotsoxchick1
if rose goes they all get in.... my final word on that one..........
YASNY
Sorry.... Rose knew the rules. No, he should not be admitted, nor reinstated to baseball in any form. And MLB needs to stop dragging his butt out on the field when they want to make money off of him.
Cy Young Porzio
i forget who it was but on the radio show me and jason did a little back we brought this up and someone said that what he did doesnt change his stats and how he played the game which is what getting into the hall is about. I say let him in, he played welland im sure others have done what he has but just not gotten caught.
Mr. Showtime
Why people make a big deal about this is beyond me. If Rose gets in fine, if he doesn't fine. I'm not going to put my head in the oven if he gets in like some people. The hall of fame is a total joke anyway.
Soxfest
Pete deserves to be in as a player and so should Joe Jackson if we went through all HOF's TY Cobb would never be elected today.
cwsox
if we went through all HOF's TY Cobb would never be elected today. Yeah he would. No question he would. Unless documentation of Cobb betting on baseball was found prior to the vote. Jerks and scums can make the hall, but betting on baseball violates the intregrity of the game and cannot be tolerated. YASNY
Absolutely right .... the integrity of the game should be held above anyone, no matter how great he was as a player. Pete Rose should remain where is as an example to any other scumbag that ever even thinks about betting on or throwing a game. MLB is saying... even the all-times hits leader is not forgiven for this indiscretion. That is, if our esteemed commish doesn't sell out. LDF
oh man this is full of bulls***. i now will jump on the bandwagon to say that rose should not be allowed into the hall when he is alive. http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0122/1496837.html the espn report says that rose will agree to betting if that will allow him to get into the hall. sooo remorsefull he is isn't he?
