The Critic
...US Cellular Field! ( well, POST-renovation USCF anyway! ) Go to http://www.stlcardinals.com and check out the artist's renderings for the new Cardinals Field ( naming rights have not yet been sold, apparently ) and tell me if I'm crazy. The structure looks USCF-like, there's an outfield concourse that looks a little familiar, and I'll be damned if those upper-deck seats don't look a LITTLE high up there! The roof structure looks a LOT like the new USCF roof is supposed to look, too. Funny....I thought the OTHER Chicago ballyard was the one everyone wanted to have....and just wait and see the media fawn over the new park in StL. Edit to add that I LOVE the open-gate part behind the outfield - it just SCREAMS "Get IN HERE!!!"
greasywheels121
LMAO it does.....Did you see they even had a poll where they get to vote on the color of the seats? I just thought that was funny when I always hear about complaints of the seat color in USCF.

greasywheels121
Pick your favorite seat color Green--The traditional ballpark seat color -- a classic look! Red --It's our team color -- enhances the "Sea of Red" effect! LMAO
Be Good
I never thought the Cardinals would get rid of their stadium anytime soon

southsider2k5
Busch stadium is a hole. It sucks. Out of all the stadiums I have been to, I liked it less than any others I have been to.
DBAHO
I had a friend down here who's a major Cardinals fan visit the stadium bout a year ago. Said it was falling apart and they needed a new 1 pretty soon.

Said it was falling apart and they needed a new 1 pretty soon. I haven't been to Busch since the first year of interleague play. Magglio was a late season call up. 1997? ... Anyway. Since they took the turf out of Busch and put in real grass, it improved it a lot. But, yes, it very well could be falling down. That one only lasted 40 years. They don't build stadiums like they used too.
Kid Gleason
I think the new place looks rather snazzy. I see some similarities, but not so many that I would feel at home. But none-the-less, if I was in St. Louis for some reason, I would love to go there and take in a game. It looks HUGE, and that concourse in the outfield looks REAL nice. Granted these are only drawings and it could suck as much as the only other NL park I have ever been to.
whitesoxin'
Granted these are only drawings and it could suck as much as the only other NL park I have ever been to. I wonder what stadium that was.... I have been to Miller Park, Tiger Stadium, Comerica, Wrigley, Metrodome, and planning on Cincinati this summer. I thought Miller Park was really nice, except for the outfield concourse. Comerica was great and Tiger Stadium had history. Metrodome and Wrigley flat out suck. It's one of the worst stadiums I've ever seen. And Wrigley smells like cubbie urine..

And Wrigley smells like cubbie urine.. I hated Wrigley but it was good because they lost one of the games 11-2 and in the other game Sam-me So-so dropped a fly-ball in the 11th inning letting the winning run score. whitesoxin'
But the Twins game I went to ended on a walk off double in the 10th. And we were right behind the Twins dugout for the whole celebration.
