fattyguy78
Tigers signed infielder Greg Norton to a minor league contract. This can't do wonders for Dean Palmer's confidence. Norton is very likely to make the team as a reserve, so Palmer probably won't be kept unless he has a great spring. Even then, he would likely just be viewed as trade bait. Scratch the idea of bringing him back....why couldn't KW have done this?? Aren't we looking for a backup 3rd baseman? I woulda liked to have seen him back. Maybe we can't afford minor league contracts anymore either...
Soxbadger
Because Herbert "The Milkman" Perry mights till be available? I dont know, because eventually even if you are spending a penny it will add up if you spend enough of them? SB

Valentin has no passion?!?! This guy plays hard every year when he takes the field. Even though he strikesout alot and makes errors, he always tries hard to improve them and is getting better. Great guy in the clubhouse and is great with late inning heroics. Personally I don't think we need a 3rd baseman. The more at-bats Crede gets the better his game becomes. But if he needs a breather, im sure uribe, valentin like u said, or even a prospect (hankins?) can fill in. That's not a big deal at this moment. Pitching wins game, and we need some. cwsox
bah i never use commas unless im writting a papper for school. would you put that comma between the two "p"s in "papper"????????? just kidding - couldn't pass it up back in 1971 after the 106 loss Sox season we signed anyone possible - most didn't contribute much but it gave the fans the sense that something was happening - all that is happening in Detroit - they will improve 20 games and thus lose 99 - I am not too worried - Greg Norton does not lead them to the promised land and if he plays for them as he did for us, so much the better - they are just doing the pr thing to sign warm bodies with MLB experience to get to that 99 loss level in 2004 while I try and deveop some minor leaguers. YASNY
If we would have signed Norton, the first 10 posts would have been along these lines: "f*** KW!!! The Cubs are trying to get Maddux and we sign this guy." "Yep! .... A b****ass retread. Get off your ass KW" " :fyou KW!" " Start celebrating. The pennant is ours! "WTF ... Why didn't we sign Daubach instead of this guy?" "Daubach can't play 3rd" "I know, but he's a better hitter than Norton will ever be." " " and so and so forth. :fthecubs
