Chisoxfn
Its reporting that Blache was dismissed by the Bears. They will now focus their attention on the Bucs defensive line coach (Problem is, Herm Edwards is after him to be the next DC for the Jets) and the Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator. southsider2k5
I wonder if Blache was unwilling to work with Smith or vice versa?
Chisoxfn
I'm guessing Smith wanted to go his own way. I also think Blache probably feels a little hurt that he wasn't even given the opportunity to interview for the HC gig. To me they both run different systems, so it makes sense for Smith to bring his own guy in, of course Smith has no control over the staff as JA has full power over the coaches and player personell. Gene Honda Civic
I wonder if Blache was unwilling to work with Smith or vice versa? Blache's fate was decided sometime on Mondayor Tuesday... Here's how I think it went -- (this is pure speculation by me) -The Bears had denied, or at least delayed, his ability to interview for the Minnesota DC job. -- that's fact. -Then Grimm was interviewed -Angelo Realizes Grimm's not the guy, but puts on a good show, he doesn't want to hurt Grimm's future job prospect, or his own relationship with anyone else in the sport -Angelo calls lovie -- He interviews the next day -Blache is granted permission and does interview in Pittsburg. At the same time that Lovie is being Iterviewed. From this, purely speculative timeline, you can glean one of two things. 1)Angelo didn't want Blache back, but didn't want him at another division foe. (not that likely) 2)Lovie wants to install his own coaches. (Highly probable)
southsider2k5
I would imagine that either Blache didn't want to change his system or Smith wanted someone imparticular.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
My question is: Why the hell is John Shoop still working here if Greg Blache and Jauron are both out? WHY?!?!? Shoop has got to be the most "offensive" offense coach ever hired by anyone and he still has a job. WTF!?!?
Chisoxfn
I think its just assumed that Shoop is gone.

That's true, but JA is going to give Smith every chance to succeed. I'm sure he'll hire co-ordinators that Smith feels comfortable working with. I hate it that we lost our special teams coach, though.
