aboz56
http://www.kenpom.com/rpi.php Here's the latest RPI. Looks like my Spartans are hanging in there despite their 6-7 record, ranking at No. 52, ahead of other Big 10 teams like Illinois, Purdue, Iowa, Indiana and Minnesota. Guess playing that tough schedule early on is going to help more than I imagined.
Gene Honda Civic
Thanks... that link went straight in my favorites... I used to visit CollegeRPI.com since back in 97-98, but it switched to a pay site last year.

Be Good
My Hoyas are still far away at #89.
southsider2k5
St Joe's at number one? Can we all agree that it is an interesting strength of schedule componant, this poll isn't worth too much? Espesially with UConn at #11, Stanford at #7, and Texas Tech being overrated at #8.
danman31
It's early. The RPI gets better once conference play continues. The top teams will get to the top.
southsider2k5
Meh like I said the only thing worth anything is the strength of schedule rating, and even that is overrated because of the whole good confrence bad confrence differencial. Basically RPI=BBS-human votes.
danman31
Basically RPI=BBS-human votes. Except the RPI isn't the end all be all in college basketball. It's a guide for the tournament, and people rarely complain about the seeds because the difference between 1 seed is really nothing.
witesoxfan
My Hoyas are still far away at #89. That's because they suck
YASNY
I was surprised to find Murray St., a school fairly close to me out of the Ohio Valley Conference at #40. They been playing good ball. Their 2 losses are to Pitt and Louisville on the road.

Basically RPI=BBS-human votes. The RPI is so much better than the BCS.... In college basketball, teams play over 30 games, compared to about 12 in Football. So what you see right now with st. Joe's on top , 14 games in to the season, is something that would happen in football, but with more than half the season to play, teams like Kentucky, and Michigan St, who play ridiculously tough schedules will move up the Rankings. Also, St. Joe's will fall because they are goig to be playing the A-10, not as good as the SEC,ACC, or even the Big Ten. Given enough time, the RPI is a highly accurate, useful tool for evaluating college basketball teams.
