winninguglyin83
this is according to the NY POst, which would wins multiple Pulitzer Prizes for Fiction if the category existed. The story sez Maggs is somebody the Mets would pursue if they were in contention and the Sox were looking to shed payroll. And from what I know about the Mets' farm system, New York ain't the place to send Maggs. http://www.nypost.com/sports/mets/15870.htm

SuperSteve
Wow, so they think the White Sox suck. The Mets are worse than the Sox IMHO. Also, they sure like the Cubans: interested in El Duque and Maels.

quickman
Where does it bash the Sox, by saying they are a NOn contender? Right now they are a non contender. Everyone in the division has gotten better except the Sox.
Rex Hudler
First of all, the NY Post is considered more of a tabloid than a respected newspaper so consider the source. That said, I see nothing wrong with this article. It is nothing different than 75% of the threads started on this board. Why can the majority of people on this board bash the Sox, their lack of offseason moves and say we are going to suck, yet an article can't write a line like this? Ordonez is due $14 million in the final year of his contract, and with the White Sox not expected to be a strong team in 2004, he could very well be on the block this season. Pastime
Yes we are. So what? I'm going up to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in June - I will truly enjoy spending an AMERICAN $20 for a meal that's $37 in CANADIAN CURRENCY. There's some more American arrogance for you - you gotta love that. I know I do! But seriously, if the Mets want Maggs, then I would make damn sure they pay through their rich obnoxious noses. I would try to take them for all they are worth. You want Maggs? Then ante up and let's see what you're willing to give up, my friend. Pastime
I don't drink anymore - my drinking almost cost me my marriage and my career. However, I love LaBatt's Blue more than any other beer. And I'm not insulting Canada at all - I love that place. I would live in Banff tomorrow if given the opportunity. I was stunned last summer - I went to a McDonald's of all places (in Vancouver) and there was a huge line. I pulled out an American $20 and the cashier took me first over the other 15 people in line. I'm sure I made some friends that day!! Prince Rupert might rain 320 days out of the year, but I love it. Victoria ROCKS. Banff RULES. Calgary was COOL. I love your country, and have the $500 tea set to prove it. The inside passage of BC? It's HEAVEN ON EARTH. I want my ashes spread there when I die. No worries man, I only kib about the States because Canadian culture dictates that I have to spend at least ten minutes a day bashing the States. We have a wee bit of an inferiority complex up here you know. As for Blue it truly is the nectar of the gods.
