MurcieOne
The Bears have been given the 14th pick of the draft... your Jerry Angelo... what do you do.
witesoxfan
Draft the best available lineman, doesn't matter if it's offensive or defensive. If I may take a guess, I'll say Vince Wilfork out of Miami.

southsider2k5
yup..if i had my choice id go with an offensive lineman first...rex looks kinda frail..we need to protect him With Tucker and maybe Columbo coming back next year, I would look for a pash rusher. I think the line will be all right. Plus there are some good FA's out there on both sides of the line that the Bears can look at.

I do think the #1 need on both sides of the ball is getting a lineman.
Gene Honda Civic
3 votes all for linemen.... You guys are all to practical... JA is going to take Kevin Jones if available. JA has already said he would have never drafted the A-train. Called him "unremarkable" or something like that.... If Jones somehow is gone before 14, I see angelo trading down, to take Steven Jackson and a the best available linemen.

maggsmaggs
Get either Tommie Harris or Wolfork and then sign Grant Winstrom(DE) in the off-season. This would allow them to use 3 rushers and then use Harris or Wolfork as a NT. Don't get Sapp, Winstrom had better numbers last year, is 4 years younger, loves Lovie Smith and will come cheaper (not cheap) Another Jerry will need to spend $$
SoxFanForever
By the way, Gallery is probably going top 5 so you can count him out going at 14.
DBAHO
We should do our own mock draft mayb with each member pickin a team. Anyways, I think da Bears will pick Vince Wilfork and either Dallas or Chicago will end up with Grant Wistrom.
WHarris1
I think a mock would be a great idea. If I were Angelo and Jones falls I would take him. But if not I would take Wilfork.

SoxAce
yup..if i had my choice id go with an offensive lineman first...rex looks kinda frail..we need to protect him That statement reminded me of something, I remember the last game when da bears were at KC, Rex Grossman injured his thumb or hand or something like that. It was found out that a ligament (or two) was torn. And they said the physician would find out if he needed surgery. Did rex get surgery on that hand (or thumb) or is he healing it naturally? Chisoxfn
If Jones falls to the Bears then book a trade down made by the Bears. They will deal with the Patriots.
maggsmaggs
If they deal with the Pats, I would want the two #1's and a second rounder for the 1st rounder and a third rounder. The Pats would be desperate to get him at that point and might do it. If Jones and Jackson are gone, they will go after Greg Jones from Florida St.

maggsmaggs
For Kevin Jones, who is gonna be spectacular they would. Also, they $20 million of cap room to address other needs as well as Rosie Colvin not playing this year for them.
MurcieOne
I Love this mock draft idea... I think it could be real fun. We'll save this one until we get closer to the draft... it's in april or may right?
WHarris1
It is in late April. We could do it right after the combine.

And Colvin will be back next year, so I don't know what you mean there.

Of course most ppl r gonna want to be da Bears, but it'll be first come first served, so if sum1 starts up a thread with ppl requestin which team they want to be, we can start settin it up I suppose. I'm in.... I think maybe what we should do first is just have a roll call... And list your favorite teams, the ones you are most knowledgable about... For me that would be the Bears and Colts.... I know there's lots of fans for both of those teams here... I think whereever possible we should have the most knowlegable person pick for each team, but for the rest, I think it should just be random. In that case, why don't I just do it all myself? I despise green but the potential for outrage was too great.
witesoxfan
By the way, Gallery is probably going top 5 so you can count him out going at 14. I do realize this, which is why I said the Bears could trade up. Maggsmaggs, while Kevin Jones could be very good, I don't think the Patriots would trade their two first round picks to get him. I think they'd rather get two players and get Chris Perry who, while is not as good as Kevin Jones, will get them 4-4.5 yards a carry. BTW, I love the mock draft idea. Sounds fun.
