DBAHO
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Left-hander Odalis Perez avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to terms of a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth $5 million. Third baseman Adrian Beltre agreed to the same terms Monday. Those moves left three players eligible for arbitration including NL Cy Young Award winner Eric Gagne, who earned $550,000 last season while saving a major league-leading 55 games in 55 chances. Gagne is asking for $8 million while the Dodgers have offered $5 million. The 27-year-old right-hander had a 2-3 record with a 1.20 ERA to go with his NL record-tying 55 saves. He allowed only 37 hits while walking 20 and striking out 137 in 82 1-3 innings. A year earlier, in his first year as a closer, Gagne also pitched in 82 1-3 innings and 77 games. He had a 4-1 record with a 1.97 ERA and 52 saves in 56 chances. A two-time All-Star, Gagne enters next season with saves in his last 63 opportunities - a major league record. He is also the only big leaguer ever to save 50 or more games in two seasons. Perez, 25, had a 12-12 record and a 4.52 ERA last year while earning $3.4 million. A year earlier, in his first season with the Dodgers, he went 15-10 with a 3.00 ERA and four complete games and pitched in the All-Star game. The other Los Angeles players eligible for arbitration are right-handed reliever Guillermo Mota and infielder-outfielder Jolbert Cabrera. Mota, 30, was 6-3 with a 1.97 ERA in 76 games last season, when he earned $675,000. He asked for $1.75 million while the Dodgers offered $1,200,200. Cabrera, 31, played in 128 games last season and hit .282 with six homers and 37 RBIs while earning $435,000. He asked for $1.35 million while the Dodgers offered $850,000. Be Good
I knew about Odalis before he became good because, I drafted him in my fantasy draft.
The Critic
I'd hate to be the guy who tries to make a case against Gagne. "Well......he BLEW THE SAVE at the All-Star Game!!!!" "He.....he.....he WEARS GLASSES!!! YEAH, and he's FAT TOO!!!"

SuperSteve
I knew about Odalis before he became good because, I drafted him in my fantasy draft. I assume you knew about him when he was on the Braves? He was part of the Sheffield deal...was not super impressive last season.
