spataro51
Hey I was at the local bar by the house yesterday evening and the owner "bobby g" approached me with some info that was handed to him from someone that posts here on this site. It was a message i posted about manuel and in the message i mentioned bobby g's and i guess some people started going into the bar since october. I am in there about 2 times a week and i watch most of the sox games there. Has anyone ever been in there?
TLAK
Twas I. I fired my former tavern the night the Grubs clinched and the barmaid wouldn't turn off the blabbering idiots on Sheffield and put the boys on one of the four TV's. That turned out to be the 15 run game in KC. So when I read your post I decided to give it a try. I liked it and am now a semi-regular. It's immaculate and attracts a good crowd. You said everyone there is a Sox fan so I pointed out to Bobby's wife that this is a lie because she is a die hard Yankee fan. I can't wait for baseball to start again, maybe I'll run into you at Bobby Gs.
spataro51
Yes bobby's wife is a yanks fan, and we give her alot of stuff for it. I will see you in there. My girlfriend works there on tuesday nights as the bartender, she replaces melissa at 6:00 she said she seen you in there when you gave melissa the note. Anyways i will see you there especially when the season starts. Bobby and millerlight sponsor about 2 games a year to go to the games its something like $30 and its all you can drink and a bleacher ticket along with rides to and from. I will keep you posted. spataro51
Jim, it is on archer ave and newland something like 6400 west archer. It is 2 blocks west of oakpark ave. Do you know the area? Great place and atmosphere for sox fans.
Guest JimH
I will have to stop there. It must be not too far east of Harlem then. I come from Naperville, so it'd be a good pit stop.

The Critic
Has it been there long? I lived in that area from 1992-2000 and I don't remember ever seeing a place called Bobby G's. Maybe it was called something else then?
spataro51
It has been there for about 2 years now. It was called linda's sidepocket but the old lady sold to bobby g and he revamped the whole inside and everything along with a new name(of course) it is across the street from lawlers. The Critic
So if I go in there, do I yell out, "I'm from SOXTALK, where's my free beer, BEEEEEYOTCH"? It woule be easier to spot the members of our SoxTalk "community" if SOME people would get off their asses and design some T-SHIRTS.....not naming names, of course.... ....we wouldn't have to scream BEEEYOTCH in a place of business!!! My aunt lives in Lockport, on Mackinaw Rd. just off of either Bell or South Bell. I like that town a lot when we visit her.

You must have grown up on Parissi's (spell?) on 63rd ... looks like a slum but its the best beef & burger drive in on the southwest side, they line up out the door at lunch time. I know a guy who drives in from Arlington Heights a couple times a year just to go there.
Harry Chappas
Give me Obbie's deepdish pizaa or give me death. I was at Lawler's when it used to be a liquor store with a bar in the back. I miss Snoopy's and the dude that played for the Knicks that owned the joint that I think is called Steve's. Was at Linda's often and hopped from there and Solofa's now I am a Sean's Rhino Bar on western. Archer is still bettter.

That's not too far from me. It is a nice town, I really like it here. I lived in Chicago for all of my 36 years, so being out here in the wide open spaces is a big change for me. I grew up in Bridgeport, walking distance from Comiskey. The thing I miss most about the old neighborhood is the food, not quite the same stuff out here. I used to go to Vaughans on 65th and Central a lot, they sponsored the baseball team I play for. Dennis the bartender is real cool and a big Sox fan. Lol...I'm already thinking of using this to market advertising from local water holes and stuff to cover server costs, raise proceeds for futuresox trips and capital for the creation of tshirts. I should have the funds in hand though in a few weeks, just did some consulting networking gigs and get paid in a few

The thing I miss most about the old neighborhood is the food, not quite the same stuff out here. Whenever we go over there, we always order carry-out, because my little cousin has some learning disabilities and needs to be watched at every second, so it's really hard to cook. My favorite places are Chipottles and some burger place I forget the name of. It is across from Blockbuster and Jewel, I beieve. I envy you for growing up in Bridgeport. That would be liket a dream come true living that close to the park. And what you say about the wide open space is funny to me because here I have a cornfield in front of my house and one in back, so the Lockport and Tinely Park area seems very congested to me, but I really like it. You really can't go wrong wth anything from Parisi's - that place kicks ass! My nephews all played Little League at Hale Park, right across the street, so that was WAY too convenient!!! spataro51
Parisi's is awsome. THe beef is out of this world, but the line especially in the summer time is out the door because of all the baseball games going on at hale. HSC biggest fan, OBBIES is the best pizza in the neighborhood, i have to have obbies about 1 a week. Never had their deepdish i will have to try it sometime, i usually get the usual thin crust extra welldone. ANyways i had no idea so many of you lived in the area or at least lived their at one time. We will defiently have to set something up at bobby's for some games or something to that matter. Bobby has just put in an outside beergarden and his permits just came through a few months ago, so we can through like a barbecue in the garden on a weekend afternoon in the summer. He plans on putting tv's and all that good stuff out there it should be a good time if everyone would be interested.

I'm definitely interested, and I KNOW once I get a buzz on, I'm hitting Park Ribs before I go home! to the PARK!
