Chisoxfn
I have no idea if he's with another organization, but if he isn't, the SOx should give this guy a minor league contract and let him play centerfielder. I saw this guy make some of the best throws I have ever seen in my life during a short stint he had with the Angels. He came out of the Rockies organization and was thought of as a pretty good prospect, but he struggled to hit and eventually moved to the Angels where he lasted for only a short time, but in that time I saw him gun two guys out and both times they were throws where me, my dad and my buddy that were at the game just dropped our jaws. Since then we always comment on how we've never seen a throw like that one and the sick thing is, he did it twice. I happened to notice he was creaming the ball down in the Puerto Rican league: .320 AVG, .445 OBP, 6 HR, 29 RBI, 21 BB, 19 K, 8 SB in 103 AB This guy is my recommendation as a big time sleeper
Guest JimH
Jason ... Send a certified letter to Dave Wilder or Kenny Williams. Another good opportunity to get your foot in the door. You may want to check first to make sure he hasn't signed w/anyone for 2004. Even still, you should tell them to keep this guy on their radar screen. They will be impressed with your assessment of his talent. May lead to a part-time scouting gig for you. Like my dad used to say, "Take Action!" Chisoxfn
I'm gonna run a check tonight and see if he's with anyone. Do I just send this letter to the stadium with ATTN Kenny or Wilder on it?

Guest JimH
I'm gonna run a check tonight and see if he's with anyone. Do I just send this letter to the stadium with ATTN Kenny or Wilder on it? I would check the White Sox web site, make sure you get the 100% correct address, get Dave Wilder's exact title, and send it to Dave Wilder, (title), Chicago White Sox Baseball Club, address, etc. Make absolutely certain you have no typos, etc. Do it in Word and make sure it's proper business letter format. You want to put your best foot forward. Tell them you're involved with this web site, and as such, you have an ongoing interest in minor league players who may be able to help the White Sox at some point. I'm sure they will appreciate your gesture. You can, and should, also express your interest in doing some part-time scouting, charting, whatever ... and ask for a name of someone in your area you can talk to. The best way to do it is to say, "Mr. Wilder, any help you can give me is certainly appreciated. Since I would imagine you're quite busy, if I haven't heard from you by "x" date (give him 10-14 days or so), I'll call your office and hopefully we can have a brief discussion." Something like that. Steff
Thanks for your help Jim Steff...I'm gonna have to pass, last thing I want KW thinking is that he has a stalker LOL... he already does. About 30 little kids between the ages of 7 and 13 who are parked in front of his house hoping to catch a look at a ball player. He's a good sport about it. Always takes time to play with them. Rex Hudler
Problem with Clemente is he is AAA fodder. The Sox already have two AAA CF's unless Reed or Borchard can make the big club, which is doubtful.
JoshPR
Velazquez Clemente played in Mexico last year for the Cancun Lobstermen and then was signed by the Somerset Patriots. http://www.baseballamerica.com/cgi-bin/sta...emente%2C+Edgar
