Right now they are riping on Frank.

Says that his RBI's and AVG were way too low.

Part of losing was his fault.

But other guy(Silvy I think) says that Buehrle and Konerko are more to blame than Frank.

Maybe they can hit 42 homers? It is to easy for these guys to rip on one guy. Winning and losing is a team thing with an individual stepping up to keep the momentum going or top off the great efforts of the team. Over the course of a season there are plenty of chances to praise and criticize all 25 individuals. If they work as a team chances are they will suceede more than fail.

I can understand blaming Konerko (we all know why) and Frank (for his attitude), but I don't understand why he would blame Buehrle. The guy had no defensive help all season, and his Runs compared to his Earned Run average is incredible. Plus, he did improve ALOT during the All Star break. The sox were in the playoff hunt when he was pitching well. it's not his fault.

Buehrle got hit really hard last year, look at the OBA

March .240

April  .277

May  .342

June .233

July  .288

August  .273

September  .274

Stats don't mean anything if you find a way to win games. How do you think he had a great record and good era the second half of the season? And he could have won alot of games this year (from beginning to end) if he had defensive help.

The reason his ERA was good was because the Sox were playing defense for him at that time. If he was getting hit .277, he's not a SO pitcher, then how does he get the majority of the outs?

That's been my whole point. He didn't get any defensive help the first half. That's why his Run to Earned run avg. was high. I've been saying they shouldn't blame Burehle for any underacheving the sox did last season.

How are you supposed to get RBI's if D'Angelo Jimenez/Robbie Alomar/Jose Valentin can't get on base more than 30 percent of the time? I remember countless times early in the season where Frank hit solo home runs to lead off an inning because the hacks in front of him weren't on base. As for average, I think we'd all like to see Frank get more hits, but his OBP was still about .380, so as long as he gets on base why does it matter if it's a single or a walk?

there is no doubt frank did his job last year..guess the media got tired of ragging on the bulls and hawks..and the bears not signing saban...the attention turned towards frank early this year

But he didnt find the way to win those games. He was 2-10 at one point, so stats do mean something. Mark was a reason we wernt in the playoffs last year. So were ALOT of other guys. But when your ace(he was are opening day starter) comes out of the gate 2-10, your team is going to have problems.

Did mark pitch like his record, or did he did unfortunite mishaps in situational games? I rest my case.
