YASNY
better yet the last time the White Sox had a player-manager they won the WS..... of course it WAS 1906, and they did only have to play the Cubs, so.... I nominate Ozzie to fill the theoretical hole vacated by JosE6. Don Kessinger was a player-manager for the Sox.
SkokieSox
I don't know about anyone else, but that scares the s*** out of me. I'd rather get .235 25 70 with 20 errors and 120 strikeouts while watching a guy try to hit right handed and end up hitting .065 then watch Uribe have an OBP under .300 and wonder what the hell will happen. I just don't like the idea of Uribe as the starting SS. Jose will be gone after this year anyways, not a big deal. Granted, Jose should definitely start at short with the personnel we have, but Uribe has a high ceiling on him. His defense is superb, that isn't a concern. However, it is believed that he was trying too hard to hit for power in Coor's Field. The Sox believe if he focuses on being a contact hitter, that he can be a real good all around player. Last I heard he was batting .275 in winter ball. Not outstanding, but not a bad start to a new approach to hitting. In comparison to Jose's winter ball season, he's an allstar. However, Jose was experimenting with an all lefty approach, which proved to not work. We'll see this season how Uribe works out.
Gene Honda Civic
Don Kessinger was a player-manager for the Sox. See that's what happens when I try to remember my past lives... They get all fuzzy.... at least the rest of the information was correct...I Think... I don't remember any sox games bfore 1983, but I'm 24 so.... upnorthsox
Yanks Signed Tyler Houston today to play 3rd I didn't know he was available, don't recall him on any of the FA or non-tendered lists.
SuperSteve
I didn't know he was available, don't recall him on any of the FA or non-tendered lists. He was cut by the Phils last season in around August or September. Bowa said he was a clubhouse problem, Houston said Bowa was an asshole. SuperSteve
Don't know if it has been posted, but seems like the Yanks are going to look at Mike Lamb. Rotoworld

SuperSteve
Sounds an awful lot like Royce Clayton to me. Difference is that Clayton was more hyped, and was the starter when he arrived.
Steff
Difference is that Clayton was more hyped, and was the starter when he arrived. And boy did he get right to "starting things" when he got here....

NUKE_CLEVELAND
Why not if you want to get rid of some $$, KW said that he wouldnt be involved in the AROD deal, because he couldn't get rid of Valentine anymore, here's your chance Kenny. Dont make me ressurect the "Stupid Trade Rumor of the Day" threads again.

DBAHO
If only it was on the field more often... Thing is now he'll be competin probably with Aaron Miles and Damien Jackson up in Colorado for an infield spot. And ppl will expect him to hit betta up there cos of the Coors factor, so if he fails, well that'll hav to be the end of him startin for another team I'd think.
