HuskyCaucasian
What are your guys’ opinions of the Democratic presidential nominee race? I always thought I was a Republican. Primarily because my parents were republican and I never really cared much about politics growing up so I just always said that I was republican. Now that I have left my teenage years behind me (I am 20, going on 21), I am taking a closer look at my personal beliefs about politics. And now that I am doing that, I really see myself more of a Democrat. (Actually, more like a combination of Republican and Democrat, but I won’t go there) So, I have been paying close attention to the democratic race. And I have to tell you, I am really impressed with Howard Dean. Unlike Kerry who tends to skirt a lot of topics, Dean is not afraid to come out and give his opinion of what is wrong with a topic and how he will fix it. I am really said that a lot of people seem to be falling for Kerry’s “I will beat Bush” campaign and ignoring the fact that he really isn’t saying much of anything at all. Chisoxfn
No one, but if I was forced I'd pick Lieberman cause he's by far the most conservative in the group and he actually has a backbone.
southsider2k5
The Demo race is almost essentially over, down to two horses. Kucinich and Sharpton are jokes. Dean and Leiberman couldn't win near their home states they are done. Clark is fading fast and needs a lot of help from the deep south or he is finished Kerry is the lead horse right now, but Edwards made a respectible showing in hostile areas, and now is going home. If Edwards doesn't score some convincing victories in the South next Tuesday you might as well crown Kerry the nominee.
Queen Prawn
It was Dean, but now I am more leaning towards Kerry. Lieberman never seems to have a clue during the debates that I have seen, I agree with Kucinich on issues but the guy is a little too odd for me (and his record pushes me in a different direction), Sharpton...need I say more about the guy...seriously though, if he wasn't so hell bent on making everything a race issue I might be interested in voting for him. HuskyCaucasian
Dean and Leiberman couldn't win near their home states they are done. Dean is from Vermont. They dont hold their primary until March 2nd. By looking at what Dean is doing, I think he is going to try to get quantity over quality. You look at Kerry who is going after Missouri (which has 74 tied to February 3 primar). WHile Dean is going after Arizona (55 tied to February 3 primary) and New Mexico (26 tied to February 3 caucuses). Let's say that Kerry gets 40 of those Missouri delgates, 17 in Arizona, and 7 in New Mexico, that puts him at 97 deligates (between Iowa, NH, Missouri, Arizona, NM) Let's say Dean gets 15 of those Missouri delgates, 25 in Arizona, and 10 in New Mexico, that puts Dean at 66. THat doesnt even factor in that Dean will probably go after North Dakota. If this senerio unfolds, then Dean is VERY much still in it. Spiff
What are you talking about, Kerry has a backbone. The man fought in Vietnam, he was in the bush with Charlie. Lieberman blows, if he's president we'll have those little booths that give you tickets for swearing in public, just like in Demolition Man. HuskyCaucasian
3 words: Carol Mosley Braun I took a class taught by a very close friend of Mosley Braun. This woman who taught my class is also a very important person in Mosley Braun campaign organization. If this woman is an indication of what Mosley Braun is like, then we are ALL in trouble if Mosley Braun is elected president. My teacher was one of the most scater brianed individuals I have ever met.
baggio202
if youre voting in illinois it doesnt matter...your vote doesnt count...this state would vote democrat for president if a dead was their candidate..and by the time the dem primary hits illinois the candidate will have already been chosen..it will just be a formality right now , whover is elected can only win if bush makes a bunch of mistakes...they will have to win because of the rest of the country hates bush because none of these guys have what it takes to win on their platform alone.. gotta wonder why hillary didnt run???...she would have beaten bush

NUKE_CLEVELAND
Looks to me like Kerry is the clear front runner but who knows. I really dont care because all they are vying for is the chance to lose to Bush in November. 4 MORE YEARS!!! 4 MORE YEARS!!!

cwsox
Lieberman and Kucinich - punchlines at best Dean fading and soon gone Clark - NH was not what he had hoped for - if he does well in anything upcoming soon he stays in So it is Kerry - Edwards - and maybe Clark. It will be one of these 3. And far more likely this year than others, two of those three will be on the ticket if Kerry is on top. The polling data is fascinating. Mathew
I saw Dean as a fence sitter on the Iraq thing so I find it odd he is praised here for his forthrightness, Lieberman is a Republican he just hasn't figured it out yet, Sharpten ect. Blah. Kerry very vague and to surprizing results leaning on the Vienam veterans crutch. I guess that means people should vote for Jello Biafra in November. HuskyCaucasian
I just want to say that I am currently pushing for a change in the US Constitution and in one week I will be declairing myself the first ever 20 year old presidential canidate. I will be under the White Sox Fan for Life Party. I am currently accepting aplications to be my VP running mate. Only stipulation is that you have to be a White Sox fan (shouldnt be to hard around here).

The city of Chicago on the other hand, now that is democrat. republican state???..yes within the context of state governemnt we could be classified as a republican state...but on the national scene the chicago voting area , which is predominately democrat , overpowers everything coming from down state...i believe in the last election bush lost illinois by about 10 points??...im thinking only new york and cali were lost by wider margins...not exactly sure on those numbers but ill bet they are close ill say this..if bush wins illinois it will mean a republican victory like those of the reagan years
