aboz56
Burks, Lance Johnson and Craig Grebeck, -- dubbed by White Sox announcer Ken 'Hawk' Harrelson as 'The Little Hurt' -- had two hits apiece. Another idiotic nickname by Hawk, it's hard to argue whether he's gotten worse over time or stayed the same.

I thought it was fairly funny at the time. To each, their own.

Sorry, I'm probably the only Sox fan who can't stand Hawk (or DJ for that matter). Actually, I'm sure there are a few others who feel the same way, they just won't speak up around here. Thank the lord for the mute button and Roons and Farmio.

Wow. now I think Rooney and Farmer are one of the best duos in the game. Espesially with the retirement of some of the old timers, there aren't a lot of quality radio guys left anymore. When the Sox start at 6 (or earlier) I'm stuck listening to them. Maybe if they would say the score of the game rather than talk about this, that or some other foresaken thing, I might not dislike them so much. They keep the games interesting to the point where if I didn't have TV, I'd still listen to every single game over the net and not miss a beat. I usually turn off the volume on the TV and crank the radio feed through the computer.
UofIChiSox
I personally like Hawk a lot, think he comes up with some good stuff, and since I am a die hard Sox fan I can appreciate his obvious bias. I don't like DJ very much and really wish it was still Hawk and Wimpy. I live downstate, so I really don't listen on the radio enough to have an opinion of those guys. beebeerichards
Farmer & Rooney wouldn't be so bad if they weren't always talking about what the score would be if whoever was batting for the Sox went yard. Farmer especially. It just gets old hearing... If this guy leaves one up so & so could take him out of here and make it a tie game..... Other than that they are very interesting to listen to. Farmer had one of the all time great quotes against the scrubs last year when Alfonseca came in for the first time. He said, shouldn't he be wearing # 24? aboz56
Tom Paciorek Analyst: Braves Paciorek joined Fox Sports Net South in 2001 as the network's MLB Atlanta Braves telecast analyst, where he teams with play-by-play voice Bob Rathbun. A veteran Major League Baseball broadcaster, Paciorek has seen the game from both sides of the microphone. He enjoyed a 15-plus-year career as a player, posting solid seasons with the Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, New York Mets and Texas Rangers. Paciorek owns a lifetime batting average of .282, with 86 home runs and 503 RBI. Prior to joining FSN's Braves telecast team, he spent 12 years as analyst for FSN Chicago's and WGN's Chicago White Sox telecasts. Paciorek, who has lived in the Atlanta area for more than 25 years, has also been an analyst for FSN Northwest's Seattle Mariners games and for FSN Detroit's telecasts of Tigers games. In 1983, Paciorek led the White Sox in batting (.307) and slugging (.490) as they captured the American League West Division title. He played in one World Series ('74 Dodgers) and one MLB All-Star Game ('81 Mariners).
SnB
I, for one, LOVE hawk. Most announcers these days couldn't care less about their teams. Hawk is one of the few that has a strong passion for this team. While he's not the best announcer in the world, he shares the feelings of us, the fans. When things are going bad, he's as angry as we are, when things are going good, he is as ecstatic as us. Now, if I wasn't a fan of the sox and was forced to listen to him, that's a totally different story.
greasywheels121
I totally agree with your statement. There have been numerous occasions when an ump males a bad call that Hawk gets just as pissed as we all do, and thats what sets him apart from other broadcasters in the game. His love of White Sox Baseball. I'm reminded of a game in Detroit this season, where this one ump just screwed on us checked swing calls in the 9th, when we were threatening to come back. I love Hawk, and DJ is getting better.

His love of White Sox Baseball. Hawk had a great moment during the three game set in which we swept Minnesota at the Cell. It was the first series with the Twinkies after Doug Mienkewitz comments concerning the all star game being moved to another stadium. Early in the game John Garland plunks Doug in the side with a fastball and is immediately (without any warnings being issued) thrown out of the game. Hawk was screaming, "THAT IS BS!!!!!!! HE CAN'T DO THAT." Once in awhile I hear that clip on the Score and it always brings a smile to my face.

Pacoriek returned to Detroit to confront the sexual abuse that he and two of his brothers received at the hands of a priest at a parish in Detroit, and became very active in calling for accountability of the heirarchy as well as encouraging other victims to enter into support groups and not be afraid of being public about what happened to them - Paciorek also did some therapy because he felt that if had spoken out, his brothers would have been spared - only the youngest Pacoriek boy, the one who played for UM, was spared from that priest's abuse Once Tom got his things going there, he got back into baseball more - along the way he did the occasional Tiger game and aboz has updated you since then link another link Tom criticizes Vatican coverup Tom speaks out
