Michael Reinsdorf

From da Trib,

Not sure how far up the flow chart this eventually goes, White Sox fans, but there's talk of another Reinsdorf—the Chairman's son, Michael—having some say-so in organization decisions.

Interesting that such talk would surface leading up to a SoxFest punctuated frequently by calls for Chairman Reinsdorf to sell the team to someone who would recognize that the so-called small-market franchise is located in the third-largest market in the country.

Whatever, Michael Reinsdorf is a managing director for International Facilities Group in Northbrook, a company that develops sports facilities.

Among other projects, Michael Reinsdorf designed and developed the James Jordan Boys & Girls Club & Family Life Center, developed the Berto Center and served as development consultant for Miller Park in Milwaukee and Comerica Park in Detroit, according to his bio on the company's Web site.

There has been talk the Dodgers still are looking at trading for Magglio Ordonez, as well as Astros outfielder Richard Hidalgo, but the Dodgers weren't able to do anything until they get a new owner. You know, like the Sox.

The Sox's pitching choices go from Bartolo Colon eating up innings to Carlos Castillo just eating.

Please God, not another gerenation of Reinsdorf control of the Sox. (why don't we have a smiley with a gun to it's head?)

the team has been passed down before within a family - would deeply lessen the fears of an owner trying to break the elase and move us, and who knows what Michael is like - sons are not clones of their fathers - damn, mine aren't!

For what it's worth, Peter Wirtz (Bill Wirtz's son) is next in line to run the Blackhawks once the old miser is rotting in Hell, and I and millions of other Hawks fans can't wait until the old coot is dirt surfing. Then, and only then will the team be run properly.

"Like father, like son" is not always true. So don't fret just yet.

The problem with him would be that he needs to make a profit from the team as well.  We need an owner that will take a risk of losing money from time to time (i.e. absorb a contract instead of having to trade 6 prospects.)

What a concept.
