Guest JimH
Here is a list of the February 4th minor league transactions from BA: Signed OF Marvin Benard, RHPs Courtney Duncan and Ken Sims, LHPs Derrin Ebert, Greg Miller and Michael Kesten and C Kevin Sullivan. Released RHP Joe Curreri. Placed LHP Jason McCurdy on the voluntarily retired list. I'll do a little research on some of these guys and post what I find. We already know about Marvin Benard. Curreri and McCurdy were draft choices who've been kicking around for a few years. The catcher, Kevin Sullivan, was in one of the independent leagues last year. The Critic
Isn't Courtney Duncan the failed Cubbie? If I'm not mistaken, he wore #55 before the immortal Shorn Testes wore it. Doom awaits the wearer of 55 in Cubbie Blue!!!
Queen Prawn
Glad to see another Sullivan on the team! lol

Guest JimH
Well, there's not a whole lot to say about these guys. Curtney Duncan is, I'm pretty sure, the ex-Cubbie. Pitched in relief last year for AAA Portland. Greg Miller pitched last year for Round Rock of the Houston Astros organization. The other three, Ken Sims, Derrin Ebert, and Michael Kesten all had limited stats and may have been coming off injury. As suspected, these guys look like roster fill, or tryouts. Cerbaho-WG
Duncan was the Cubbie who gave up the Grand Slam to C Lee during the 2000 season, I believe (or 2001, not sure). Duncan http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?ID=1018 Sims http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?ID=22341 Ebbert http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?ID=11036 Miller http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?Name=GCJC Kesten http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?ID=5865 Sullivan http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?ID=7168
MnSoxFan
That Greg Miller had some nice stats, he was traded with the SS named Everett, to the Astros a few years back for Carl Everett. Worth seeing if he comes back from injury, nothing to lose. He and Duncan are only 2 with a prayer of ever helping us.

Doom awaits the wearer of 55 in Cubbie Blue!!! Courtney Duncan is a quality reliever. I like that pickup. Well thats assuming he was the former cub. I think he had some arm troubles or some type of nagging injuries. But I thought he pitched pretty well when he was in the majors. If I recall had a nice sinking fastball. I know when the move was made, Adam Everett was supposed to be can't miss, and the Astros are still waiting for him . Thats just to show some others, that we arne't the only organization that has prospects fail.

mac9001
Carl Everett played for Houston? Adam Everett, of the white dinosaurs believing Everett's. BTW, Carl did played for the Astros. Adam was traded for Carl.
