knightni
McCourt will consider keeping Evans Associated Press LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers general manager Dan Evans may have to interview for his own job. New team owner Frank McCourt met with Evans on Friday and told him the team will start a search for a new general manager -- and that Evans' name will be on the list of candidates. McCourt said he hopes to reach a decision by the beginning of spring training. The status of manager Jim Tracy would be left to whichever general manager is chosen, McCourt said. "I assured him that he is still the general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and that he is a legitimate candidate for the position," McCourt said. "I wanted to be very direct and honest with him, so that he heard it from me first." Evans declined to comment. McCourt is believed to be interested in longtime baseball executive Pat Gillick, especially after Oakland A's owner Steve Schott told the San Francisco Chronicle he wouldn't allow the Dodgers to interview his general manager, Billy Beane. Evans is in the final year of a three-year contract. Heh, guess he wasn't golden in LA either.

SuperSteve
How about those Illini eh? Yeah, Illinois lost to a young Minnesota. Damn. Illinois is pretty tough, but I cannot see them competing with Okie State if they met. Matches would probably go along these lines (barring some decent matchups): 125: Ott, UI...Stites, OSU -- 3-0 UI 133: Jayne, UI...Thompson, OSU -- 3-3 141: Martin, UI...Delk, OSU -- 6-3 OSU 149: Dietzen, UI...Esposito, OSU -- 10-3 OSU 157: Tirapelle, UI...Hendericks, OSU -- 10-6 OSU 165: Reynolds, UI...Lewis, OSU -- 16-6 OSU 174: Friedl, UI...Pendleton, OSU -- 19-6 OSU 184: Glynn, UI...Rosholt, OSU -- 22-6 OSU 197: Potter, UI...Blackmon, OSU -- 22-9 OSU 285: Benhke, UI...Grunwald, OSU -- 22-12 OSU They have a bad ass recruiting class, and I think the next few years they could have a shot at the NCAA title. Johnson (their coach) is supposed to be a dochebag too. (It is sad I did all that off the top of my head.)
