southsideirish
Why must you always stick your nose in s*** that has nothing to do with you? :headshake Why must I always? :headshake I never knew I did it before. SuperSteve
You probably didn't even think half as highly about Loaiza last year. Look what happened! Keep your head up. The White Sox will be good this year. I am as optimistic as anybody, but you can't compare Scho and Loz like that. I remember seeing Loz pitch opening day for the Rangers a few years back. He has always been a generally good pitcher. He was not stud before last season, but he was still not bad. Scho hasn't had the same kind of career, and I would perfer him as the number five. I would love for him to do well, but I really think we need luck for him to be a sucessful number four.
Steff
This is your quote: You didn't state that he was better at pitching more innings than everyone else. You stated that he pitched more innings AND was better than everyone else. That means he did both, when in fact he was only better at pitching more innings. Better than everyone else and he WAS an ACE on this team? In fact he wasn't better than everyone else. Just because he pitches more innings than anyone else makes him the ACE and better than anyone else? That is a strange conclusion to come to. In every other category besides innings pitched Colon's numbers do not measure up to Loaiza's. Buehrle pitched more innings than Loaiza last year, 230.3 to 226.3. Would you say that Buehrle was better then Loaiza? Yea.. Mark was better at eating innings. Colon was better at both of them in doing so as well. Now.. stop telling me what I think and what I mean and READ what's there, not what you can twist to start an argument. I was talking about INNINGS PITCHED as I time and time and time again referred to that stat and that stat ONLY, as you pointed out in my quote. Alrighty then! No need to twist anything. I quoted you exactly as you wrote it. He wasn't better than Loaiza at anything but eating innings. That is not what you said. How can you come to the conclusion that a pitcher is an ace just by how many innings he pitches?

The comparison is no one expected Loaiza to even come close to what he did last year. Scho or someone else can do the same this year. I have looked at Loaiza's previous years and there is nothing that stands out to me that could have ever told me he would have done what he did last year. Steff
I didn't twist anything. Did you read your post? Alrighty then! Yes, I did. And you qouted it to boot. Innings pitched.. what's the problem? I-n-n-i-n-g-s- p-i-t-c-h-e-d.. that has nothing to do with ERA, SO, BB's, HR's given up.. etc, etc, etc... I posted stats on INNINGS PITCHED. My argument has been based on INNINGS PITCHED. Why do you keep trying to debate anything other than INNINGS PITCHED with me when I was ONLY discussing INNINGS PITCHED. You forget the other part of your quote which is the one that is being debated here, and was better than everyone else.. he WAS an ACE on this team... There you go. Now what? That says a lot more than inninngs pitched. It states innings pitched AND!!! DO you not see the AND?

Better luck next time! It's not an insult... it's clear that YOU are nothing but an argumentative person. I've explained myself TWICE and you keep baiting. What's the problem? NO ONE else had trouble understanding my point.. just you. Surprise, surprise.. Back to the way things were... obviously you are lacking skills in the "move on" department. Back to the way things were... obviously you are lacking skills in the "move on" department. No you havent. YOu are explaining the part you want to explain and disregarding the part that is being debated. SOmeone else did as I have seen Brando's post as well. Here I will quote him here just in case you missed it: Fine....lets throw 50 Mill on a 32-yo FAT, somewhat LAZY pitcher who not only barely cleared a 4.00 ERA barrier, he did so in a s***TY-hitting division and who's had a TON of pitches in that "rubber" arm of his and has complained to his trainer about his back giving him problems during two of his June-July starts.....OR NOT. Waitaminute.....He was better than Loaiza last year?? Okey. You don't make yourself as clear as you think you do. I have no problem moving on. This is another debate. I am fine with everything the way things were. I have posted on here when I thought you were correct as well. However, I am not going to kiss your ass and tell you your right when you are not. If that is what you consider moving on then you are soarly mistaken. I'm out, Happy Valentine's Day. If you want to continue with this discussion I will be back on Monday. Until then! How on earth will the mods get through the day without anymore of your PM's.. :headshake I'm not looking to start an argument or take sides, but this is a cheap shot, and so was bringing someone's parents into the argument. Private messages are supposed to be just that, private. If they were brought up for public discussion by a moderator JMHO. There's way too many cheap shots on the official board, it'd be nice if we could live without them.

And it's a shame that even though both of you have so many disagreements, you both are sox fans. I could see if one of uz were a cub fan then fine.. But two sox fans who love the same team bickering like this is sickening.. :puke
Steff
No mods told me about PM's.. it's there plain as day to see when someone is sending a PM on the member list board. And it's a shame this became what it did, I agree. I have ignored it for the past week and that appeared to be working out.. but alas... a differing opinion, mine, got attacked WITHOUT provocation. I disagreed with three different people in this thread other than the instigator and those disagreements were met with "yea.. ok" and it was dropped. I did not go after anyone, and I did not shoot back until shot at. And I'm getting sick and tired of the "waa, waa... Steff's picking on me" s***. This place was FINALLY nice and calm. A gentle ribbing amongst friends has never before not been acceptable. We all pretty much know eachothers posting styles.. I don't think we need a board cop telling us (me) what is or is not "mean" or when to stay on topic. I take back nor apologize for nothing. The kid is nothing but argumenative and hostile. If you're gonna dish it.. be prepared to take it. I find it real interesting that since day 1 this is how this member has behaved. Also interesting that none of the rest of us have issues with eachother anything like this.

Chisoxfn
Going to close this post. Too many personal attacks. On the plus side, I'm getting close to getting an ignore feature up which would be perfect for situations like this If anyone has any comments, just shoot me a pm.
