SuperSteve
Jeremy Roenick too a slap shot right in the face. Saw it on WGN News...said he had a fractured jaw among other injuries. Taken off ice on a stretcher. He was one of my favorite players. That's a bad injury.

The Critic
Just for accuracy's sake, JR wasn't stretchered off the ice. He was helped off the ice by teammates and waved to the fans as they cheered for him....AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN!!!! That's right - they weren't cheering the injury, they were cheering that he GOT UP!!! The animals who root for the Rangers CHEERED for the health of an opponent???? What's going on here??? Next thing you know, ShamME will get a standing O at USCF......NAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH......

But that happens a lot of times when an opponent gets hurt and gets back up.

Queen Prawn
Not just fractured.. shattered!! No, just broken. He was speaking at about 11PM (there is a link at inthecrease.com). Yahoo link - click it while it lasts Also at yahoo they are saying broken, not shattered. ESPN's first news release on this did say shattered though. I thought it was shattered as well, but there was the yahoo and another link saying otherwise on www.inthecrease.com .

In New York they usually cheer when the guy goes down to begin with.
southsider2k5
In New York they usually cheer when the guy goes down to begin with. Honestly Philly sports fans are the most classless when it comes to that stuff. Maybe at first they cheer when a guy goes down in NY, but then they usually cheer when he goes off as well. Philly fans are just brutal.
southsider2k5
This is the word from the Flyers. pretty "significantly" That sounds closer to "shattered" to me... http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=1734448

It was reported that he was talking last night and I read somewhere that you can't talk if it is shattered. All in all, it's semantics. Let's make it simple - His mouth is f'd up and there is a chance he won't be back this season!
